Manchester‘s post-punk vets CHAMELEONS led by mastermind, vocalist and bassist
Mark Burgess aka VOX (now aged 65) recorded/released only 4 albums, so far, since
their inception in 1981. But relentless touring kept them in the spotlight.

And a few weeks ago the long-awaited news came in that Vox & Co have bagged
their first LP in 24 years. It’s baptized ARCTIC MOON and will show up on Sept 12th.

Vox (aka Mark Burgess)Our new album is finally finished and being prepared for release. There is an obvious maturity to the songwriting on this record, while anyone familiar with our past work will hear that this is a positive step forward. “We’re really pleased with how the album has turned out and really looking forward to the challenge of performing songs from it live when we begin the ‘Arctic Moon’ tour.

Here’s the guitar-sparkling lead single SAVIOURS ARE A DANGEROUS THING.

5-track EP Tomorrow Remember Yesterday. You can stream it below.

For the first time, we’ve been able to use real orchestral strings on a couple of songs, which were arranged and performed by Pete Whitfield at Real Strings in Manchester. They have been given a truly epic quality, but we have every confidence our keyboard player Danny [Ashberry] will utilise all his skill to help bring this to the stage!”

CHAMELEONS Back From Never Have Being Away – Album ‘LIVE FROM THE EDGE’ Out Now, UK Tour Next Month

18 November 2022

It seems like British indie heroes CHAMELEONS have been around like forever
besides some long hiatuses (1981–1987, 2000–2003, 2021–present) which co-founder/bassist/songwriter MARK BURGESS filled with playing with a couple of
other bands, or solo or under the moniker of ChameleonsVox. And his appetite
for touring and showing again and again why the band was criminally underrated
isn’t over yet.

Following the release of live album EDGE SESSIONS (Live From The Edge) Burgess
and his group are ready for a 12-date tour in the UK next month (dates below).

About the album: As things begin to open up after the pandemic and the world finds some sense of a new normal, Chameleons (UK) have joined with Metropolis Records to release Edge Sessions (Live From The Edge) a collection of seven classic Chameleons songs performed live in May of 2021 by founding members Mark Burgess and Reg Smithies, joined by more recent members Chris Oliver on guitar, and Stephen Rice on drums. Three additional bonus tracks of ChameleonsVox era live recordings round out this stunning release.

This high-quality live record is a remarkable Chameleons document and confirms
what they will do in the future: being around like they have never been away.
