At its heart, the record explores the strange poetry buried within the ordinary. Harris’s lyrics, steeped in literary detail and filmic atmosphere, draw from a fascination with the dark underbelly of the everyday and the contradictions of womanhood.”

PLACEBO Announce Reimagined Version Of Their 30-Year-Old Debut Album And TOUR DATES

Celebrating three decades since the release (17 June 1996) of their debut LP,
British power-pop rockers PLACEBO, with original members, vocalist-guitarist
Brian Molko and bassist Stefan Olsdal, will release a RE:CREATED version.

It’ll feature new, reworked and embellished versions of all
10 tracks from the original album plus two bonus tracks.

Placebo explains: “We think of this record as a director’s cut. We haven’t recreated
it from scratch. We went back to the original master tapes and brought 30 years of
playing these songs live back into the record.

This project was about finally finishing the record, dragging it into the 21st century
sonically, while preserving the integrity and the spirit of the original. It’s not about
improving it, there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s about completing it.

It’s a celebration of where we began, and a meeting point between who we were then
and who we are now; a way of honoring that innocence, while letting the songs exist
with the scale, confidence, and energy of the band we’ve become”.

The band will play several UK and European shows to celebrate the event.

Press info: While the first releases focused on mechanical grooves, their debut
album, Boxing Days, has become a distinct guitar album. The nonconformist approach
to songwriting, however, remained: in eight tracks clocking in at just over half an hour, it ranges from raw, back-to-the-roots punk to the closest they’ve ever come to a ballad.

There are echoes of Wire and Gang Of Four, alongside contemporary references like IDLES, Shame, and Viagra Boys, but The Rats never resort to imitation. What prevails is a radically unique identity: that of a band that never chooses the easy way out and doesn’t follow trends.”

Brighton (UK) on their way to stardom.

Their 2nd one, following 2024’s

Chloe Howard (frontwoman): “The album is about a night out, from start to finish.
As the night progresses, you’re having a great time, until your ex walks in with someone
else.

You hate the way you look but rather than going home, you press the big red button and get even more drunk. Eventually, you take yourself home full of melancholy, chaos and anger.”

Portland‘s groove masters THE DANDY WARHOLS, active since 1994, released
their 12th LP, called Rockmaker in 2024. And now they have a covers album,
ready to share with their devotees on March 20th.

Zia McCabe (keyboardist): “We’ve been talking for years now about getting as
many of the covers we’ve done for specific territories together and releasing them
for all to hear. It’s finally happening.

A total of 17 tracks with covers by big-names such as The Cramps, The Clash,
Gang Of Four, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Byrds, The Runways, and New York Dolls.

DEPECHE MODE Announce Live Movie And Live LP

Electro Goth-pop giants DEPECHE MODE are together
for 45 years now. Incredible. Way longer than
most marriages last.

In 2023, they released their 15th album, called
Memento Mori and followed it with a world tour.

Now a live movie called M will be in cinemas
and on IMAX from October 28th onward.

It’s conceived and directed by award-winning Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frias
and described as a dynamic cinematic experience built around footage from DM’s
three sold-out Mexico City Foro Sol Stadium shows from 2023.

The movie will be released on Blu-ray and 2CDs on December 5th. More info here.

On the same day a 4 LP live album, titled Memento Mori: Mexico City will make the band’s countless fans feel like it’s already Xmas. It’s a live recording of over two hours
of music from those three concerts, including 4 previously unreleased studio recordings from the Memento Mori Sessions. It’ll also feature live photos from the shows.
