CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL Released Their 5th LP ‘COSMO’S FACTORY’ 55 Years Ago Today

Significant longplayers from yesteryear

8 July 2025

Immortal country rock legends CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL
(1967-1972), fronted by John Fogerty (80 now and still rockin’ around
the world) released their 5th LP COSMO’S FACTORY on 8 July 1970,
today 55 years ago.

It was their 5th one in just two years. It topped both the US and UK Charts.

The album’s title comes from the name of the warehouse in Berkeley California
where the band rehearsed early in their career. It was dubbed ‘The Factory‘ by
drummer Doug ‘Cosmo’ Clifford, because bandleader John Fogerty made them
practice there almost every day.

Rolling Stone wrote at the time: “Apart from prolific writing, Fogerty’s ability
to consistently churn out good stuff is largely due to his penchant for rehearsing
the band five days a week in a converted warehouse in Berkeley’s industrial section.

Besides saxophone, Fogerty is now learning all the other instruments he’s always
wanted to play. It’s another damn good album by a group which is going to be
around for a long time.”

Happy 80 To JOHN FOGERTY

28 May 2025

Singer-songwriter-guitarist JOHN FOGERTY
was born in Berkeley (CA) on 28 May 1945.

Happy 80 to the former chief of rock legends CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL
(1959–1972 / 7 LPs). The band’s split-up was a nasty one with several legal suits of
CCR vs John Fogerty, lasting for years. Only recently he got the rights back for all
the songs he wrote.

Anyway, Fogerty started a successful solo career
(9 LPs so far) and still a one-man travellin’ band.

CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL Released Their 4th LP ‘WILLY AND THE POOR BOYS’ 55 Years Ago Today

2 November 2024

55 years ago today, on 2 November 2019, Californian legends CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL released one of their most acclaimed longplayers with Willy And The Poor Boys. It was their third LP in one year!

A first-class album combining guitar rock, Americana, country melodies, blues and rockabilly in an astounding way with John Fogerty‘s cracking voice injecting each and every song (except instrumental track Poorboy Shuffle, of course) on this LP, with his extraordinary vocal range.

Ultimate Class Rock wrote: “Has anyone in rock history had a year as a productive and
as uniformly excellent as Creedence Clearwater Revival did in 1969? They started the year, in January, with their sophomore album, Bayou Country. They followed it up in August with ‘Green River’. Three months after that they released their masterpiece, ‘Willy and the Poor Boys.’ One of the band’s greatest achievements, which is even more remarkable coming at the end of Fogerty and the group’s tireless year. “

7 August 1969 – CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL Released Classic LP ‘GREEN RIVER’ Today 55 Years Ago

7 August 2024

55 years ago today, on 7 August 1969, Californian rock icons CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (1959-1972) fronted by John Fogerty, released one of their most memorable LPs with GREEN RIVER (one of the 3 longplayers released in the same year, along with Bayou Country and Willy And The Poor Boys).

A high-class Americana roots record that combines jangly guitar-infused rock, country, blues, and rockabilly in a highly spellbinding and most entertaining way with John Fogerty‘s characteristic voice – born to sing rock ‘n’ roll – as a fundamental instrument to CCR’s shaking sound.

JOHN FOGERTY And His Travellin’ Band Rocked All Over Belgium

15 July 2024

Country-rock-blues band CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, fronted by
living legend JOHN FOGERTY, were one of the most famous bands on the
planet from 1967 to 1972. They had multiple hit singles and released 7 LPs
before the band broke up following several rows between the members.

(Photo taken from the big screen next to the stage)

Fogerty went solo and recorded/released 10 albums (so far). At 79, he’s still touring.
Last Saturday he played at Rock Zottegem Festival – Belgium (20 minutes from
where I live).

It was a celebration of the glorious past of CCR, a retro jukebox revival with an
audience of 25.000, young and old, 3 generations, singing along for 90 minutes
to timeless classics such as Bad Moon Rising, Up Around The Bend, Green River,
Travellin’ Band
and of course Proud Mary.

It’s not only about the historic hits itselves, also about but the terrifically electrifying
way Fogerty and his excellent band bring them, with his fantastic Americana voice
lifting the songs to a monumental level.

Great artists unite people and make them feel euphorically happy. John Fogerty is one of them. After all these years he knows all the tricks to entertain people from start to finish with a salvo of country-blues-rock earworms, and he was as enthusiastic as all of us and thanking the crowd several times for still loving his songs, singing them along and for being still able at his age to rock all over the world.

Unforgettable concert! Genuine legend!

Thanks to a fan in the front you can watch/experience the full concert.
The sound is not great, but the footage it gives you an idea of Fogerty‘s
arousing performance.

Happy 79 To Former CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL Voice/Face JOHN FOGERTY

28 May 2024

JOHN CAMERON FOGERTY was born Berkeley, California on 28 May 1945.

Happy 79 to the voice/face and maestro of historic travelin’ band CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (including his brother Tom) who were a hit machine with
multiple classic singles and no less than 7 LPs in 5 years (1967-1972).

The band split up with angry arguing and legal battles.

John started a successful solo career and released (so far) 10 albums.
He’s still active (will see him next July in Belgium at Rock Zottegem Fest).

C.C.R.’s Commander JOHN FOGERTY Gets The Rights Of The Band’s Catalogue… After 50 Years

16 January 2023

77-year-old JOHN FOGERTY, the legendary singer-songwriter and main man-voice-face
of memorable American rockers CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (also named in short C.C.R. featuring John & Tom Fogerty, Doug Clifford and Stu Cook) has finally, after a legal battle of 50 years with bandmates/labels/publishers the rights of the band’s full catalog
of which the major part of the songs was written by him.

John Fogerty: “As of this January, I own my own songs again. This is something
I thought would never be a possibility. After 50 years, I am finally reunited with my
songs. I also have a say in where and how my songs are used. Up until this year,
that is something I have never been able to do.”

These and the countless other songs are yours again, Fortunate Son.
