project this year.

Press info: “The album is a collection of 15 new tracks featuring artists and
collaborators including: Ajay Prasanna, Anoushka Shankar, Asha Bhosle, Asha Puthli,
Bizarrap, Black Thought, Gruff Rhys, Idles, Jalen Ngonda, Johnny Marr, Kara Jackson, Omar Souleyman, Paul Simonon, Sparks, Trueno and Yasiin Bey; as well as the voices of Bobby Womack, Dave Jolicoeur, Dennis Hopper, Mark E. Smith, Proof and Tony Allen.

The artwork for The Mountain sees Jamie Hewlett’s distinct, yet ever-evolving, style illustrate the world of Gorillaz with an ever more detailed and beautiful intricacy across a series of hand-drawn illustrations.

Circumstances find Murdoc Niccals, Russel Hobbs, 2D and Noodle in India, where our heroes are immersed in the rhythms of mystical music-making as they navigate the mountainous terrain of this thing called life.”

Finnish Songsmith KAKTUS EINARSSON Invited Blur’s DAMON ALBARN On His New Feel Good Single ‘GUMBRI’

Artist: KAKTUS EINARSSON
Who: Singer-songwriter from Reykjavík (Finland) who opened up
with his band Fufanu, opened hometown shows for Radiohead and
Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Also supported Blur in Hyde Park, and playing
at big festivals.

His debut solo album ‘Kick The Ladder’ was released in 2021.
His second one ‘Lobster Coda’ will be launched on October 25th.

For the newest single of the album, GUMBRI, Einnarsson gets company of
Blur‘s frontman Damon Albarn for a feel good, Gorillaz-like upper tune.

and The Queen, solo and songwriter for other artists

New album: ‘THE NEARER THE FOUNTAIN, MORE PURE THE STREAM FLOWS’,
Released: 12 November 2021 via Transgressive Records.

The new record is influenced by an orchestral project and live experience back
in 2019, with the landscapes of Iceland as an inspiration, 11 tracks “exploring themes
of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth”.

The title is taken from a poem by English poet John Clare.

NME says: “The Blur legend — and his snazzy new mullet — takes us on a spectral tour
of far-flung lands… Considering it was made during a time when we couldn’t go anywhere,
this album is at worst a fittingly scenic trip through the places that inspired it, and at best
a fresh new sonic chapter for Albarn and a wonderful way for you to leave all the nonsense behind; blissfully reminded that there’s a beautiful world out there. Then be happy for the
rest of the day, safe in the knowledge there will always be a bit of your heart devoted to it.”
