Following the first preview The Piper’s Call, a gentle and electrifying ballad,
we get a new, special, one. It’s a cover of BETWEEN TWO POINTS, a 1999 song
by former British duo The Montgolfier Brothers. It features Gilmour’s his
daughter Romany on vocals, tender-hearted and compassionate.

Gilmour: “I’ve had that song on my playlist since it was released. More recently I mentioned
it to one or two people: I assumed that it had been a hit, but no one knew it. I asked Romany
to give it a go.”

aged 78 now, announced a new solo album, his fifth, baptized LUCK
AND STRANGE
.

The majority of the album’s lyrics have been composed by Polly Samson,
Gilmour’s co-writer and collaborator for the past thirty years.

“It’s written from the point of view of being older; mortality is the constant.”

Along with the news came the first new track, titled Piper’s Call. A both gentle and
guitar-driven piece that brings that iconic band Pink Floyd, in the late 70s era, to mind.

Just now Gilmour revealed in a press statement that he’ll take the road to promote
the upcoming longplayer in London, Rome, LA and New York (probably more dates TBA).

New DAVID GILMOUR Album ‘LUCKY AND STRANGE’ Out In September – Hear First Taster ‘THE PIPER’S CALL’

Former Pink Floyd guitar hero DAVID GILMOUR (aged 78 now) has finished
the recordings of his 5th solo LP. It’s titled LUCKY AND STRANGE and will
land on September 6 via Sony Music.

The 8-track album is Gilmour’s first album of new
material in nine years since Rattle That Lock.

David Gilmour about producer Charlie Andrew: (alt-J, Marika Hackman). “We invited Charlie to the house, so he came and listened to some demos, and said things like, “Well, why does there have to be a guitar solo there?” and “Do they all fade out? Can’t some of them just end?”. He has a wonderful lack of knowledge or respect for this past of mine. He’s very direct and not in any way overawed, and I love that. That is just so good for me because the last thing you want is people just deferring to you.”

The majority of the album’s lyrics have been composed by Polly Samson,
Gilmour’s co-writer and collaborator for the past thirty years.

“It’s written from the point of view of being older; mortality is the constant.”

First taster is THE PIPER’S CALL. A both gentle and electrifying musing that
brings that iconic band, named Pink Floyd, in the late 70s era, to mind.

The Late Great PETER GREEN And DAVID GILMOUR Need Your Love So Bad

Reveries for the laziest day of the week

8 May 2021

(Peter Green: far right)

PETER GREEN (29 October 1946 – 25 July 2020), co-founder of the original
‘blues’ Fleetwood Mac, is regarded by many (fans and critics) as the heart
and soul of the band’s initial incarnation.

One of their greatest hits was NEED YOUR LOVE SO BAD – #2 in the UK in 1968 –
was originally a big hit for Little Willie John in 1955.

Now a new version has come to the surface featuring vocals from the late Peter Green
and a newly recorded guitar part from former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour.

Check it out…

DAVID GILMOUR Shares New Single ‘YES, I HAVE GHOSTS’ With Vocals By Daughter ROMANY

Reveries for the laziest day of the week

After five years of silence, since his 2015 album Rattle That Rock,
DAVID GILMOUR shared a new track called YES, I HAVE GHOSTS.

The song is inspired by the audiobook version of his wife and author
Polly Samson’s A Theatre Of Dreams.

Gilmour said in a press statement: “Polly’s vivid and poetic writing, coupled with her very natural narration voice, made joining forces to produce the audio version of ‘A Theatre for Dreamers’ a fantastic and fulfilling experience. The audiobook format has so much untapped potential, and I am surprised more musicians have not creatively collaborated with authors, narrators and audiobook producers in this way before. The two worlds seem to seamlessly
link, and music can really help to bring audiobooks to life in unexpected new ways.”

Yes, I Have Ghosts also features vocals and harp by their daughter Romany.
