British new pop wave band XTC (1972–2006) driven by frontman/songwriter
Andy Partridge released stand-alone single DEAR GOD on 16 August 1986,
today 40 years ago.

Written by Partridge, the song lyrics grapple with the existence of God
and the problem of evil. Partridge was inspired by a series of books with
the same title, which Partridge viewed as exploitative of children.

It wasn’t a commercial success, but still
is one of their best songs to date.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS are an idolized 70s-inspired heavy rock band from
New York City, formed in 2009, fronted by the drop-dead gorgeous Taylor
Momsen gifted with a skyscraping voice. She was just 16 when she joined
the group.

At the age of 3, she was already a kid actress and became a model in her teens.
And she still plays in movies and walks the catwalk in between inflaming TPR.

Momsen: “Music is where I can be me. Acting is easy. I’ve been doing it for so long
and I totally love it. But you’re playing a character instead of yourself. Music is more
personal because you’re writing it and you’re involved in every step of it.”

The band have pieced together their 5th album,
named DEAR GOD. It’ll hit the streets on June 26th.

Who: The musical project of 22-year-old musician Robert Ortiz from Brampton, ON.
With a self-produced vision that incorporates punk, hardcore and industrial sounds with rap cadences. He was on legendary British music website NME’s 100 artists-to-watch list
in 2021.
