Sacramento‘s pop-punk-rock act DESTROY BOYS formed in 2015 by outspoken Amazons Alexia Roditis and Violet Mayugba have been on a wild ride. They released, so far, 3 albums. Sorry, Mom (2017) Make Room (2018) and Open Mouth, Open Heart (2021) which gained millions of streams on Spotify.

The band’s name was taken from the words that Mayugba wrote on
her chalkboard at home during a period of relationship problems.

Last April they unleashed their first new music of
2023 with maddening missile Beg For Torture.

And in between touring, the destroying girls canned another
rad cannonball, titled SHADOW (I’M BREAKING DOWN).

Alexia Roditis: “Shadow… is about compassionately confronting the parts
of yourself that you don’t like, or do like but might be toxic. It’s an introspective
piece, taking notes from various spiritual beliefs and psychological research.”

This new juggernaut, sung in English and spiced with some Spanish fragments,
takes you on an adrenalized roller coaster breaking down on the cathartic chorus
with pithy panache.
