“Flutter is inspired by teenage heartbreak, the yearning when a relationship ends. It feels awkward, romantic, sad yet uplifting. The bare bones I wrote as a teenager, at the time when I didn’t really understand how to let out these emotions. Soothing and breezy, this song taught me to accept rejection.”

Music is a powerful medium for all kinds of emotions. Happiness, sadness, catharsis, and so on. Here this one-man band uses it to channel the end of a relationship. Flutter is a fully charged-guitar jam that grows in riveting tenseness along the way while enlivening vocals complete the sonic picture.

Illeiwat: “My main inspiration throughout this process was exercising and
accepting a lack of control. Creatively, writing and recording this EP felt new
in many ways. It felt like I reclaimed my innovation by just creating for myself.
It’s a profound way to experience a sense of community and being able to share
that with others is wonderful in many ways. It made me realise that’s the real
reason I wanted to make art in the first place.”
