Every day of this summer we go back to the same summer day somewhere in history

24 August 2026

English dream pop duo EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL (1982–2000,
2021–present) broke the all-time US chart stay record, today 30 years
ago, with their captivating, dancy hit Missing (more than 45 million
streams on Spotify) when it appeared on the Billboard Chart for the
55th week.

The record was previously held by the American soul pop band
The Four Seasons‘s 1975 hit December 1963 (Oh, What A Night).

British indie synth-pop duo EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL – singer Tracey Thorn
and multi-instrumentalist Ben Watt – are back after 24 years and 10 albums.

They deliver # 11, titled FUSE on 21 April 2023. Pre-order info here.

The duo shares another track, following the first single
Nothing Left To Lose
, named CAUTION TO THE WIND

Tracey Horn: “It’s about arrival and seizing the moment, so
with the music we tried to capture the feeling of a perpetual
point in time.’

Ben Watt: “I let the words quickly collapse and loop inside the production.
The drums emerge and repeat, and everything then starts to unfold in cycles
of anticipation and release. I guess it’s just classic nightclub tension and euphoria.”

This new cut is pure EBTG. A trippy electro-pop tune from their dream bubble.

British indie synth-pop duo EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL – singer Tracey Thorn
and multi-instrumentalist Ben Watt – are back after 24 years and 10 albums.

They just announced longplayer # 11, titled FUSE.
It lands on 21 April 2023. Pre-order info here.

Thorn told NME: “People will hear this single and assume the album is more electronic than acoustic, but there is a mixture of stuff on there. You’re always trying to exist in the present. It’s lovely having a past and being respected for it – I don’t dismiss that at all, we’re grateful – but you’re living today. It’s exciting to feel like you’re making stuff that has a connection with what’s happening around you now.”

First single NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE is modern
day EBM with deep electronic bass resonance and
soulful R&B vocality with Thorn‘s aged voice.

Listen/watch.

Also streaming on Spotify.
