†††
aka CROSSES is Deftones singer Chino Moreno and producer,
multi-instrumentalist SHAUN LOPEZ. They work(ed) for a long time
together – on and off – on the Crosses project.

Last week they dropped a brand new 6-track EP titled PERMANENT.RADIANT.
And now they join the never-ending queue of artists singing a lullaby around
the Xmas tree. They picked the 1987 George Michael ballad torch One More Try
to cover for the festive Holidays.

GEORGE MICHAEL Topped UK Charts 35 Years Ago With ‘A DIFFERENT CORNER’

Top singles from the past…

19 April 2021

Artist: GEORGE MICHAEL
Born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou on 25 June 1963
and passed away on 25 December 2016, only 53

Single: A DIFFERENT CORNER

Michael about the song: “I felt like shit. I went in and recorded exactly
the way I felt, and that’s the way it sounds. It was partly Wham! and partly
the end of a relationship. It was the farthest I’d ever fallen, and in a very
short period of time. I had to get rid of it somehow, I had to write about it.
That’s a really perverse side that I’m sure a lot of writers have -‘I feel like shit,
but maybe I’ll get a good song out of it.’”

Score: No 1 in the UK, in Canada, Portugal, Norway and… Zimbabwe (fact!)

Turn Up the Volume: Cheesy? Yes, but one of the best cheesiest songs
I ever heard. I’m sure The Bee Gees loved this magnificent ballad.

R.I.P. Michael
