Today 20 years ago, on 8 June 1999, Los Angeles’ veteran rockers RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS released their highly acclaimed ninth studio LP ‘CALIFORNICATION’. The
record was produced by Rick Rubin and with guitarist John Frusciante back on
board. It was a major triumph selling more than 15 million copies worldwide.

Rolling Stone wrote: “They’ve settled down and written a whole album’s worth of tunes
that tickle the ear, romance the booty, swell the heart, moisten the tear ducts and dilate
