Single from their upcoming, 2nd album,
baptized CANCEL ME (I’M TIRED) out Oct 2.

“The song is about the chaotic, toxic, and explosive dynamic between
two people who constantly fight and treat every argument like the end
of the world.”

TUTV: Fat Dog sound like pitbulls going off their heads in a nightclub. When the chorus kicks in they start barking like mad. This spiked blast invites you to join the four-legged punks.

Great shit.

Band: BAU CAT
Who: Energizing three-piece from the
seaside town of Prestatyn, North Wales.

Track: TRAPOSPERE

Inspired by the uncomfortable and often absurd world of the online Manosphere,
the song employs satire, defiance and a healthy dose of irreverence to call out the
culture of misogyny, insecurity and misinformation that exists within these online
spaces.

TUTV: Wowzers. Once under your skin, this non-stop roasting rocker drives you
out of your aroused mind. A blistering cadence, greedy guitars, whomping drumming
and a devilish chorus work tightly together for this crackerjack barnstormer.

Bonkers score.

voltage, turning this staggering jam into a truly stupendous opus.

Band: NRVS
Who: Mysterious post-punk outfit “with a nightmare-normal vision of the near future, that you can dance to”. Ideologically they are confrontational, unapologetic, existentially on the edge & uncompromising in their beliefs – all of which is reflected in their creative output, whether it’s music, visuals or their involvement in Extinction Rebellion & similar protests against the status quo.

Track: THE TANKS ARE COMING OUT

While we’re all busy putting out fires in our everyday lives, governments
and leaders around the world are accumulating tanks, bombs & drones.

Photomontage by Peter Kennard

TUTV: Ominous. Dark. Feverish. So 2026. This goosebumps alarm has a striking impact, growing in chilling fervidness. Anxious vocals accentuate the tune’s foreboding theme. Monumental sonic warning for more evil to come. Fuck all political psychopath leaders.

Fuck war.

Artist: BAD WITH PHONES
Who: Artistic moniker for Manny T Deroy, a South London
musician/bassist/producer. A one-off, a future of weirdo
pop, R&B, rap and post-punk.

He has, so far, 2 albums under his belt.

Track: HUMAN

Manny stopped carrying a phone for six months, as a sort of social experiment to see if he could live in the 21st century without one. “I wanted to see why we all feel so obligated to own one, smirking as he recalls the annoyance of all the friends who struggled to reach him.

T Deroy: “I wrote Human for my son who passed away days after he was born. The whole thing felt like an out of body experience. ‘Human’ is about birth and death respecting the way life plays out. I could rationalize that maybe the kid got all they needed from the planet maybe they thought they didn’t need to experience any more.

We all go through things in life no one’s exempt from a heart break. I’m glad I was able to express my experience, and I genuinely hope it is a help to anyone who’s experienced something similar. I believe if you have life, you should celebrate it and ultimately the song is a celebration of life. It’s my anthem to liberation of all kinds.

TUTV: Hello? Listen up, people. Human is a highly impassioned reflection about
the traumatic experience of losing your son shortly after birth. Its rappin’ flow, soul-stirring vocals, and overall sticky tempo have a long-lasting effect on your psyche. Gripping song.

Entrancing.

Artist: LEG PUPPY 2.0
Who: British techno junk who started out as
a joke, is around for 10 years now.

Track: Track: SORRY MAN WON’T (MAKE IT MAN,
It features FiftyHurtz.

TUTV: Leg Puppy 2.0 is back from never being away and still constructs techno EBM for night owls who are addicted to 24-hour parties. Don’t be sorry, man, you’ve made it for 10 years now. We’re thrilled that you still produce beeps, bleeps and banging beats to make our stereos go nuts. Leg forever Puppy.

Who: A versatile musician from London who creates/records electronica,
ambient minimalism, neo-classical and post-rock. He’s also half of electro
pop duo Feral Five and Dice Machine.

Track: GROOVY MOVES

TUTV: Back to the raving 90s with this mid-tempo chemical bros pelvis-shaker.
Its psychedelic-infused and ambient-juiced groove causes a hypnotic effect on
mind and body. Move your furniture and display your best moves.

by charismatic singer-songwriter Kele Okereke.

Track: PIGWIG

Anatomy Of A Brief Romance, out Sept 11th.

Artists: PRINCESS UGLY
Who: Two misfits – J. Christopher-Rome and Christopher Moncrieffe – from Portland, OR
who are influenced by goth, post-punk, darkwave and adjacent genres. So far, the tandem has released two albums and 2 EPs.

Track: THE WORK

“The new single presents lyrically as an existential, ontological horror supported by EBM-influenced instrumentation. We are compelled to always work, and we will be consumed by the work. We work to create, only for our creation and the work itself to gain autonomy, stalk us, prey on us. We are pursued and controlled by them, endlessly.”

TUTV: Welcome to Princess Ugly‘s underground batcave where darkwave-addicted clubgoers gather to move in mysterious ways to non-stop techno beats and creepy vocals. The Work is sonic nutrition for EBM night owls. Preferably consumed in the midnight hours.

Artist: SOUTHPAW GRAMMAR
Who: Singer-songwriter and producer from Derby, UK. He delivers
high-energy live performances and a sound that feels both nostalgic
and urgently contemporary. His music speaks directly to the realities
of working-class life while delivering dancefloor-ready grooves.

Track: TROUBLE COMING
New single.

“The song tackles political tribalism, online hostility and economic inequality without descending into slogans or partisan rhetoric. The song reflects on how quickly neighbours become opponents, friends become ideological rivals and public debate collapses into accusations and insults.”

TUTV: This UK garage grime piece brings The Streets‘vibrant vibes to mind. Trouble Coming bounces around in your head after a couple of spins. Its groovy flow and chantlike chorus generates swaying body motion.

Southpaw Grammar looks at our collapsing world and, as (almost) all of us, he sees messed-up societies all over the planet where intolerance, bigoted extremism, and narcissistic politics dictate our lives. Suffocating trouble is already here; the only way
to survive is in togetherness.

Band: INDIGO SYNDICATE
Who: Nashville-based trio that blends alternative, pop, indie, and soul influences.
The group has carved out a lane that feels both genre-fluid and intentional. They
released their debut full-length Sasquatch this year, in January.

Track: HOWLING AT THE MOON

The song explores the small moments that make
absence of your lover feel impossible to ignore.

TUTV: My ears hear enticing Big Thief folk and harmonious I’m From Barcelona echoes. Howling At The Moon‘s growing catchiness turns this acoustic gem into a sticking ditty that puts a big smile on your face all day long. Romanticism in motion. Mood-stimulating beauty.

“I know you love me, but I’m overthinking / In my head / I miss you in our bed /

Band: PONDLIFE
Who: 4-piece from
London/Bristol.

Track: SIX OF ONE
From their new 4-song EP Cello

It’s the first song the band wrote together and is the only track on the EP
not previously released. The song’s lyrics deal with the discovery of mortality
as a child and explore the void it leaves behind, before landing on something
that feels like acceptance.

TUTV: This burning torch jam smells like slow-mo Nirvana spirit. Rough vocal passion, grungy guitar rawness and overall sinewy emotionality. Ardent ardour is the key word leading to a highly appealing captivation.

Arresting.

Artist: PPR PPL
Pronounced ‘Paper People’.

Who: Alt-rock project from multi-instrumentalist Peter W. Bartash built on the idea that who we are on paper is not who we are in reality, exploring existence through a sonic lens of post-hardcore, shoegaze, and alternative metal.

TUTV: Zealous guitars are embedded in a delirious and expressive melodiousness. On the mighty chorus, the all-consuming vocals echo the immense vehemence of the late great voice Chris Cornell. Say no more.

Powerful piece.

Who: Belgian dream pop duo, featuring
Marie Van Uytvanck and Amber Piddington.

Track: BEST FRIEND
Newest single from their forthcoming sophomore LP,

TUTV: These Belgian buns know exatcly how to entice with peppy pop melodies which
invoke a feel-good, sun-lit vibe with smooth guitar riffs and warm duet vocals.

Saul Adamczewski – Photo by Turn Up The Volume

Band: INSECURE MEN
Who: Wayward London-based indie collective conducted by
Saul Adamczewski, also the musical architect of notorious
misfits Fat White Family.

They released their splendacious self-titled debut LP in 2018.
Followed by their sophomore one, A Man For All Seasons.

Track: LA BLUES POOL
Preview from their upcoming EP.
Details TBA.

TUTV: The ghost of early Velvet Underground wanders all over this slo-mo jam. Gloomily orchestrated and ominously progressing, with Adamczewski‘s obscure vocals augmenting the sinister sonority of this truly notable piece of music.

10 BEST ALBUMS OF THE MONTH – AUGUST 2026

– 1 –

Band: HOLY COVES

Who: Ardent Welsh indie outfit, fronted
by singer-songwriter Scott Marsden.

Album: HIRAETH
Welsh for ‘longing‘.
Their 4th.

TUTV: Hiraeth is a genuinely soul-stirring and brutally honest record.

Singer-songwriter/guitarist Scott Marsden recalls his past demons and finds comfort
in the beauty of his beloved Wales, its compelling history and the making of this new formidable album. He’s an emotive storyteller, blessed with a heartwarming voice that
fits his self-exploratory quest in every respect, spiritually and musically.

This is unquestionably the band’s most coherent, engrossing, and complete work,
excelling on every level and showing the cathartic power of music, once again. Mind
you, their previous work is more than noteworthy, but Hiraeth‘s full-blown execution makes it a grand achievement to cherish for a long time.

One of the best indie guitar rock-pop albums of the
year. A milestone for the Welshmen. Hands down.

Band: GETDOWN SERVICES

Who: Wacky disco-rap-punk duo
from Bristol, UK

Album: MASSIVE CHAMPION.
Their sophomore one.

Album artwork

TUTV: They go up, they get down. Up again. Down again. At first I was confused by the
by now pretty famous indie duo’s changing sonic moods breaking down the record’s
flow.

Lullabies, rock outs, moony mid-tempo reflections. One tune they put you in a soothing modus with a lullaby. The next tune they plug in their amps for a couple of pelvis-shaking firecrackers. Then it goes back to life-reflecting/watching thoughts, daily reveries, existentialist questions, and some depressing moments. Quite something else than
their non-stop groovy fiesta debut.

But I didn’t give up, as I felt some sort of connection anyway, and I kept on listening,
and it all started to make sense. This record’s emotional fluctuations, musically, vocally
and lyrically, became one full Getdown Services picture/experience that sticks seamlessly
in the end. Big score.

Band: WESTSIDE COWBOY

Who: Highly promising indies from Manchester, UK. They released
their skilful post-punk debut EP So Much Country ‘Till We Get There
last January.

Album: IT GOES ON
Their debut.

TUTV: These young Mancunians nail it big time with this crackerjack debut. Their ramshackle post-punk fieriness is startling. Its jittery, hypnotic, speedy, repetitive riffing rippers, spirited with Geese-resonating duet vocals combine for a wayward, thrilling
record. A wowzers way to start your journey.

Band: THE AFGHAN WHIGS

Who: Cincinnati‘s rock bigshots, celebrating
their 40th anniversary this year.

Album: SOFT CONTROL
Their 10th.

TUTV: The Afghan Whigs catalog is strikingly notable for its mad keen fervidness,
true-blue authenticity, at times its dark emotionality, and its sonic brilliance.
Soft Control has all those substantial characteristics.

Greg Dulli is one of the greatest guitar-rock songwriters and blessed with a terrific
voice. Lyrically, he digs deep down again with inner-soul-searching quests. After four
decades, The Whigs are alive and kicking once again. Respect!

Band: KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD

Who: The tireless Australian psych-prog-rockers

Album: ALIEN METAL
They just released their 28th LP in 14 years.
They must be the hardest-working band on
this planet.

Credit: Maclay Heriot

TUTV: It’s a pretty unusual record for the riff junks from down under, as they have thrown their guitars through the window and surprise with a full electronic opus. They go back to the British 90s techno raves.

Alien Metal resonates as if KG&TLW locked themselves up for a couple
of weeks playing Underworld, The Prodigy and Leftfield records on repeat.

Expect an incessant tsunami of hyperkinetic beats, mind-blowing electro
Krautrock madness, and deformed vocal flashes. Full blast forward without
breaks. Not one moment to have a much-needed breather. E-cstatic.

Band: MODERATE REBELS

Who: London-based collective with a fluid membership, active since 2016,
who value expressing their ideas and feelings simply and directly, sometimes uber minimally, over any flash displays of musical skills. There have been Scottish, English, Australian and Irish members at various points.

Album: CHASE THE LOSSES (NOTICE THE FEELINGS)
The 5th one.

MR: “Building better worlds…what could possibly go wrong?…history always shows that giving
a government as much ‘authority’ over citizens as it would like, works out really well…it’s best practice to treat everyone like a potential criminal…total surveillance makes you free. So, here’s a new happy go lucky MR album for 2026.”

TUTV: It feels like the alarming ghost of visionary novellist/poet/journalist George Orwell is roaming about this record, attracting attention to his 1949 dystopian book Nineteen Eighty-Four once again.

Sonically, these rebels run, run, run like The Velvet Underground in their early days when they looked/played like the last gloom and doom band on earth. Strangely similar (and vice versa) to the debut LP by British young post-punk gunslingers (see/hear above). Then, why the fuck is the mainstream press not talking about this stunning record as they do abundantly about Westside Cowboy?

Whatever, MR constructed a must-hear, dazzling-puzzling
Götterdämmerung rock opus for your twilight hours.

Band: MAN/WOMAN/CHAINSAW

Who: Unadulterated indies
from London, UK.

Album: CANNONBALL.
Their debut.

Credit M/W/C

TUTV: Man/Woman/Chainsaw join the (new) generation of new Brit-post-punk artilleries that started sometime post Brex-shit, with innovative bands such as Black Midi (already gone), Black Country New Road, Squid, Ditz, Bdrmm and newcomers Modern Woman, Westside Cowboy, Mary In The Junkyard, and My New Band Believe.

They have one thing in common: looking for new musical angels, exciting ideas
and unconventional soundscapes, within the broad rock-pop-punk universe,
without being arty farty.

M/W/C does it now for the first time with this debut LP. Whimsical, chopped-up song structures, spine-tingling melodiousness, two perfervid vocalists, nightmarish stories, mood-changing violins and confusing orchestrations. Everything in place to score a bodacious firstborn. Have a bloodcurdling trip.

Band: THE DURUTTI COLUMN

Who: Post-punk project of Manchester-born, experimental singer-songwriter-guitarist Vincent Gerard “Vini” Reilly (now 72). The band’s name refers to the Durruti Column,
an anarchist military unit in the Spanish Civil War, named after Buenaventura Durruti.

Album: RENASCENT.
His 28th.

📸 @micksteff64

TUTV: This is a soothing, ambient Eno-like soundtrack for a melodramatic movie.
Reilly offers cinematic, dreamy soundscapes, rather than conventional song structures.
His singular, crystalline, finger-picking guitar playing style commands the aural tone throughout.

7 out of the 11 tracks are instrumentals. Caoilfhionn Rose sings on 3, Lucas Elliot
on one, and Reilly stirs with vulnerable vocals on the album’s best piece, the wondrous musing Scammer. Give Renascent a couple of spins; once you’re connected with The Durutti Column‘s imaginative and blue-sky world, you’ll enjoy a very gratifying record.

TUTV: 10 years since they formed this London indie collective unleashed their debut LP, following their attention-grabbing 7-track debut EP My Eyes, Brother! from 2022.

A brassy, funky and punky-jazzy party record, stuffed with pelvis-wobbling grooves and Angus Rodgers‘ bossy vocals pushing his abstract stories up front. OP blend, effortlessly vaudeville, ska and mariachi elements in heart-stopping and invigorating dynamics.

Artist: BRANDON FLOWERS

Who: The charismatic Californian
frontman of The Killers

The LP is recorded in Nashville, the mecca of country music, with some renowned
country musicians. Rooted in his formative childhood years in the small town of Nephi, Utah, the timeless sonic approach proves to be the ideal home for Flowers’ most personal and vulnerable songwriting yet.

TUTV: When Flowers works solo, he regularly delves into his youth, coming up
with both sad and happy memories. He doesn’t trash anything whatsoever here.
He drenches his melancholic stories in bittersweet country tunes.

A bit sugary here and there, but nevertheless, the overall musical radiance
is very charming and entertaining. Music for daydreaming moments.

GETDOWN SERVICES – English Daft Disco-Punk Groovers Turn It Up And Get Down On 2nd LP ‘MASSIVE CHAMPION’

20 August 2026

Band: GETDOWN SERVICES
Who: Wacky disco-rap-punk duo
from Bristol, UK

Album: MASSIVE CHAMPION.
Their sophomore one.

Press info: “An odyssey of anarchic joy, seditious wit and boundless energy, the LP finds Josh Law and Ben Sadler pushing deeper into the singular world they have been building for years, while opening up new emotional and lyrical ground. The record was written in green rooms, on long car journeys and in the gaps between relentless touring.”

Album artwork

NME: “The buzzy Minehead-via-Bristol party-starters shake off the ‘joke band’ label and
face up to doubt on nuanced album number two. Getdown Services are not Sleaford Mods
for the microbrew crowd or the Yard Act fit for a stag do, they are something of their own
and something to be taken quite seriously.

We could have done with a bit more of the party to beat the pity, but they’ve at least
delivered one of the unlikeliest real pleasures of a bleak 2026, so suck on that.”

TUTV: They go up, they get down. Up again. Down again. At first I was confused by the

GETDOWN SERVICES – Whacky Disco-Rap-Punk Duo Premier Their 2nd LP On August 14th

23 July 2026

Band: GETDOWN SERVICES
Who: Wacky disco-rap-punk duo from Bristol, UK

Track: CAN’T DIE LIKE THAT
New single from their new, forthcoming 2nd LP, titled
Massive Champion. Out 14th August. Order info here.

Press info: “An odyssey of anarchic joy, seditious wit and boundless energy, the album finds Josh Law and Ben Sadler pushing deeper into the singular world they have been building for years, while opening up new emotional and lyrical ground. The record was written in green rooms, on long car journeys and in the gaps between relentless touring.

It stands as their boldest and most expansive statement to date, an ode to childhood, British cultural detritus and the absurd poetry of everyday life, distilling everything that has made Getdown Services one of the most exhilarating and unpredictable bands around. In the band’s words it is “about self pity and realising that maybe all of the healing your inner child stuff you hear about isn’t actually total bollocks. Musically and lyrically I think it’s about us trying to clean up our act a bit.”

The tandem gave us 3 previews, thus far. Three pelvis-shaking groovers.

TUTV: An archetypal finger on the guitar trigger
sledgehammer. Overwhelming rock bravado.

Helter skelter.

Band: CYPRESS HILL

Who: The weed-fueled hip-rap-hoppers
from South Gate, California.

Track: CAMPEONES

New piece from their upcoming 11th LP. A project performed entirely
in Spanish that aims to highlight their Latin roots and reconnect directly
with their cultural heritage. Tracklist & release date TBA.

It features fellow rapper Mellow Mace Ace.

TUTV: Vamos, rapeemos. Cypress Hill trigger your pelvis to move from left to right
and back to the accordion’s ambiance. Sickly sticking melodia. Fix yourself a cocktail
and sway your body to the motorik swagger.

Still insane in the brain.

the English West Midlands with 3 albums under their
belt.

Track: ONLY FREE WHEN SLEEPING
Cut from their upcoming 10-track EP,
called O, JOY!. It’ll land on June 5.

going wham bam bloody wham bam while rapping vocals roll all
over the boisterous beats.

Alright!

Band: WHOLES

Who: Raucous noise outfit led by Belgian, musical chameleon Wolf Vanwymeersch,

Last year, the band scored big time with their heart-wrenching debut LP, named
A Mass In The Water. One of the best 10 LPs of 2025 according to TUTV‘s ears.

Track: THE MOMENT

TUTV: Frontman Wolf told us that this new tune is not as dark as the previous ones,
even a teeny bit romantic with a line that goes like this “If our eyes lock for a second,
we’ll share an eternity”
.

Besides that lovey-dovey line, The Moment sounds actually more like a brain-breaking nightmare, motorized by about 100 guitars and Wolf‘s ghostly vocals. It progresses
like a slow-burning torch that will, eventually, extinguish in the end. Spooky and
chilling if you ask me. Not really a whole lotta love here.

Catch the moment, folks.

Band: GETDOWN SERVICES

Who: Wacky and ironic disco-rap-punk duo from Bristol, UK
who made an instant impression in their home country with their
festive 2023 debut LP Crisps followed by a couple of EPs.

Track: THE RADIATOR
New single.

TUTV: Another rap-turous hip-shaker, simple but irresistible.
An upper to get you through your daily grind. Jive-tastic.

Move now.
Left and right
Up and down.

Artist: COMMON FLAWS

Who: The solo project of Giacomo Oberti
the singer/songwriter for Italian synth-pop
act The Bankrobber.

Track: Can’t Sit, Won’t Sit

TUTV: Ecstatic 90s acid house the Soulwax way. Medication for addicted Ibiza partygoers. Electronic bass-cannonade mixed with chemical bros beats and gyrating, computerized voices. Nightclub magnetism.

Artist: SPACEMOTH

Who: American psych-pop musician/producer Maryam Qudus.
She released her debut full-length No Past No Future, in 2022.

Track: DO WE EXIST?
New single from her upcoming 2nd album, titled Inward Eye.
It’ll see the day of light on June 26th. More info here.

TUTV: Anxious guitars, pounding drum/bass, frolicky synths,
and lighthearted vocals combine for a peppy electro earworm.

A-OK.

Band: TEMPLES

Who: The British psychedelic-flavoured,
glam-poppers from London.

New Track: VENDETTA
Newest single from their forthcoming 5th album,
called Bliss. Out June 26th.

James Bagshaw: “Suddenly, you had this almost Justice-Daft Punk-sounding
sample that then goes into something that could be a modern take on dance
music, like a David Guetta or Avicii song.”

TUTV: Expect a dazzling ride, going in different directions. Vendetta is
a boggling symphony, sonically multicolored, and features another glittery
vocal performance by charismatic frontman James Bagshaw.

Blissfull.

Band: MODEST MOUSE

Who: Portland-based rockers formed by singer/songwriter
and guitarist Isaac Brock in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington.

They’re quite active lately. It started with the celebration of the 20th anniversary
of their 4th LP Good News For People Who Love Bad News, and a tour that
will run until summer.

Track: PICKING DRAGON’S POCKETS

TUTV: One of those cock-a-hoop MM moments. A blissed-out dancefloor
filler for eager limbs. Isaac Brock is still tune-crazy after all these years,
still rockin’ da house. Hail hail!

Band: HOLY COVES

Who: Highly passionate Welsh rockers, fronted
by singer-songwriter Scott Marsden.

Track: HOLE
Single from their 4th longplayer, titled Hiraeth, and
planned for release on August 14th. More info here.

Marsden: “After my Mum passed away last year it got me thinking a lot about death,
and what does all this really matter after we’re gone. We really do need to make the most
of the time we have, and to make each day count. There really is always a light at the end
of the tunnel, however hard it may seem.”

TUTV: Another fired-up, vintage HC steamroller with an uplifting tone, strung-out
guitars and avid vocals. A bracing and encouraging momentum for the future.

Band: LONELY LITTLE KITSCH

Who: Two-piece alt-rock band from Niagara, Canada featuring
vocalist/songwriter Kristen Goetz and guitarist Nolan Jodes.

Track: SOMEWHERE ELSE
Their 8th single ahead of their debut full-length, coming out
later in the year. One of the first songs written by the couple.

Goetz: “It’s a song about people who copy and paste themselves. They see others
doing something interesting and need to believe they can do it better. You find it
everywhere, in music, in business, in everyday life. There’s always someone
who wants what you’ve achieved and is convinced they deserve it more.”

TUTV: Maybe mellower than their previous work, yet sonically, Somewhere Else
is propelled by a voltaic groove and peaks on the poppy chorus, colored with
tantalizing vocals.

Have fun with the hilarious skeleton.

Band: THE ROOST
Who: An alternative rock band that shapes an atypical musical universe
whose energy is drawn from the roots of rock, nu-metal, and stoner.

Track: AS IT SEEMS
This single is the beginning of a major new chapter. The group’s new
six-track mini album, named ‘Black Mountain‘ is set to officially drop
on 22 May, 2026.

TUTV: Last week Foo Fighters released their new album, and this is one of the highlights. Oops. I’ll restart. Foo Fighters have a new album out and some tracks, as it seems, echo these Belgian power-rockers. Not kidding.

At the core of this firecracker, we have a poppy vocal melody, but a greedy artillery try desperately to dominate this juggernaut. Check out for yourself who wins the fight.

Here’s your new favourite toy.

Band: SILK

Who: The musical project of Irish guitarist/songwriter
Michael Smyth of former shoegazers Virgins.

Track: AURALUX
The title track from the upcoming mini-album debut,
out on May 7th. Tracklist and pre-order info here.

Lyrically, the song cuts across themes of loss and
acceptance, catharsis via volume and reverb.

Album artwork

TUTV: Shoegaze at its transcendental best. After a fuzzy intro, your ears get engulfed by a wide-ranging flood of galvanic guitars, dragging you into a whirlpool of six-string electricity with a melodramatic and bombastic resonance, while Smyth‘s velvety vocals hover all over the voltaic storm. One of his best compositions to date.

Band: REMINGTON SUPER 60
Who: Daydreamers from Norway.

Christoffer Schou (founder/songwriter): “Time to Breathe” is a little more energetic than our usual dream‑pop leanings — built around a groovy bassline and our singer’s soft, airy vocals. It was recorded in my living‑room studio, surrounded by guitars, basses, and a pile of well‑worn 80s Casio and Yamaha toy keyboards that have quietly shaped our sound over the years.”

TUTV: Entrancing dream pop music is about ear-catching, infectious, and stimulating tunes that bounce around in your head right away, and that you add to your favorite playlist (as I did).

Time To Breathe is one of that kind. Sensual vocals, sprightly melodiousness, a bass-driven groove, arresting chorusing, retro-romantic echoes synthesise here refreshingly. Summer is just around the corner.

Enjoy the sonic breeze.

Band: THE GET ALONGS

Who: Canadian indie team formed in 2017 have spent the better part of a decade refining a sound that pulls from 60s garage, 70s power pop, and 90s psych without getting stuck in any one lane.

Track: COME ON
The first advance single from their upcoming,
sophomore LP, Second To None, due June 19, 2026

“The kind of track that feels right at home spilling out onto Queen West after
last call, guitars ringing out over the hum of streetcars and whatever’s left
of the night.”

TUTV: Garage rock ruckus with all cylinders on. Filthy riffs, edged hooks,
unfaltering beats, and sinewy vocals. All those afire ingredients squeezed
together lead to a psyched-out slice of raw and rough exuberance. Come on,
press the play button and let your eardrums have some shuddering fun.

Dope stroke.

Artist: TRICKY

Who: Co-founder of trip-hop stars Massive Attack, 38 years ago (I know,
sounds like ages). Not happy with his role in MA he left after 2 albums
and started a remarkable solo career.

Track: OUT OF PLACE
The lead single of his forthcoming 15th full-length,
baptized Different When It’s Silent. More info here.

TUTV: Trippy, spacey, and far-out as we know the now
58-year-old maverick for a long time. Still pushing the
right buttons.

Credit Pat Piasecki

Band: OTHER BROTHER DARRYL
Who: Country & Americana collective from Boston.
They released their debut LP Roll Shine Roll last year.

Track: TAKE IT WITH YOU
New single.

TUTV: Warm Americana at its nostalgic best. Sonically, harmonically and
melodically. Take It With You is richly orchestrated with both an acoustic
glow and steel guitar sparkles, mellow organs and piano now and then
in the back.

Feel-good country rock vibes, early Eagles come to mind, sooth our troubled
state of mind and make us dream about much-needed better times. There’s
always an encouraging light that shines at the end of the melancholia tunnel.

Artist: SUKI WATERHOUSE

Who: Songstress, actress
and model from London.

Track: TINY RAISIN
New single from her forthcoming 3rd album, called
Loveland. It comes our way on July 10th.

Waterhouse: “A love song at its core. It’s a song that stands by the fact that real love in its truest essence can be chaotic, ridiculous, and imperfect, while still being something that is absolutely worth choosing over and over again at the end of the day.”

TUTV
: Power pop glamour with witty lyrics and fabulous vocals. Dumpfounding class.

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks have
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Listen up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Artist: COROOK
Who: Nashville-based singer-songwriter Corinne Savage,
who released her debut LP Committed To A Bit.

Track: KLEPTOMANIAC

“Being liked is nice. Being honest is better.
I’m learning to choose the second one.”

TUTV: This Courtney Barnett-like groover sticks instantly. Vivid vibes
trigger forth-and-back sway moves. Manic story, poppy vocals.

Band: GETDOWN SERVICES
Who: Stand-up groove comedians from
Bristol (UK), with 2 EPs under their belt.

Track: THE RADIATOR
Newest single.

“This song is about only picking fights that you know you’ll win. It came about because
the heating wouldn’t come on once and I thought about when we bang things to make
hem work. The sense of victory you get when you feel like you’ve physically intimidated
an inanimate object into doing what you want is bizarre and pathetic and really
funny.”

TUTV: Getdown Services serve a new get up, jiggle and let your pelvis have some fun
tune. This witty duo master the needed tricks to activate your lazy ass and make it
wobble.

Band: KASABIAN
Who: Celebrated vet rockers
from Leicester, UK.

Track: GREAT PRETENDER
Newest shared piece from their upcoming
9th full-length, called Act III. Out on July 17th.

TUTV: Simple dance tune, gratifying outcome. No rock swagger anymore (miss that badly). Vocalist/songwriter Pizzorno changed Kasabian‘s musical course after firing charismatic frontman Tom Meighan in 2020.

Artist: PETER GABRIEL

Track: TILL YOUR MIND IS SHINING
New cut from his 11th solo LP o\i.
Programmed for release after summer.

Gabriel: “Of all the songs that I’ve written for i/o and o\i this is probably the poppiest for me.
It takes me back to my schooldays, in some ways, because before there was Genesis we were effectively trying to be songwriters more than musicians. I think this song connects me back to some of those roots and the sort of thing that I was working on then and trying to master.”

TUTV: Gabriel does here what he already did on his previous album i/o, coming
up with electro-juiced compositions driven by funky beats and throbbing, rhythmical dynamics. No sledgehammers anymore.

One Sonic Summer Booster A Day Keeps Insanity Away – Today: Disco-Rap-Punk Misfits GETDOWN SERVICES

8 August 2025

GETDOWN SERVICES is a wacky, snappy and catchy disco-rap-punk tandem from
Bristol, UK, who made a pronto impression in their home country with titillating
2023 debut LP Crisps.

Last year, they followed it with a rapturous 6-track EP, named Crumbs and
last June they launched another 6-track EP, called Primordial Slot Machine.

Slowly but surely, the madcap tandem’s tunes found their way into Europe‘s
indie scene too. They started touring the continent non-stop (as I witnessed myself
in Brugge, Belgium last January) and they’re still hanging around for a series of gigs.

Last June, they stopped for a short set at London‘s State51 Conspiracy studios,
the home of a multifaceted indie music company. Of course, they played their
biggest hit so far, DOG DRIBBLE (almost 4 million streams on Spotify).

If your limbs do not respond to this hyperkinetic dribble,
you need to change your meds or consult your shrink.
