GOLDEN HOURS – Mellow Single ‘JAPAN ON MY MIND’ Is A Fitting Musing For The Midnight Hours

Daily electricity to load your batteries

1 September 2023

Band: GOLDEN HOURS
Who: Based between Berlin and Brussels, the project is comprised of past and
present members of Gang Of Four, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tricky, The Fuzztones
and The Third Sound, to name just a few. A band with mileage and stories, Golden Hours trade in rock’n’roll missives that are at times dark, tense, and hypnotic, at others sweaty, relentless and danceable.

Last March the group launched their admirable self-titled debut full-length. A top-notch, varied mix of Krautrock, electrifying Pop/Rock jams, shoegaze and balladry. You can stream it below.

One of the peak moments on the record JAPAN ON MY MIND came out as a single,
annex video, a couple of weeks ago. A shadowy, graceful, and mesmeric ballad for the midnight hours. It wouldn’t be out of place on an album of romantics, The National.

The soft, warm vocals immediately brought their crooner/songwriter Matt Berninger
to mind, and with the song’s mellow and soothing orchestration, I heard echoes of day/night dreamers Tindersticks. Japan On My Mind is a fitting musing for the midnight hours.

Dim the light, relax, take a seat, and let your thoughts take over.

Seasoned Post-Punk Musicians GOLDEN HOURS Nail It With Their Haunting Debut Single

New striking strokes

25 January 2023

Band: GOLDEN HOURS
Who: Based between Berlin and Brussels, the project is comprised of past and
present members of Gang Of Four, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tricky, The Fuzztones
and The Third Sound, to name just a few. A band with mileage and stories, Golden Hours trade in rock’n’roll missives that are at times dark, tense and hypnotic, at others sweaty, relentless and danceable.

Debut single: COME AND FIND ME
From the upcoming eponymous debut LP,
out 31 March via Fuzz Club.

TUTV: Balancing between the maniacal days of Nick Cave’s Birthday Party
and Interpol‘s early, electrical turbulence Golden Hours nail it right away with
this absorbing debut stroke. The menacing bass, the gloom and doom
progression, the haunting vocals, it’s all there to get dazed and confused.
