5 October 2023
Welsh singer-songwriter GRUFF RHYS (born Gruffudd Maredudd Bowen Rhys 53 years ago), best known as the frontman of Super Furry Animals announced his 8th solo album. It’s baptized Sadness Sets Me Free and comes our way on 26 January 2024. Pre-order info here.
Lead-single: CELESTIAL CANDYFLOSS
Rhys about the song: ”It’s an attempted pocket symphony about the cosmic lengths
that people will travel in the pursuit of love and acceptance.” and about the video. “Mark James has brought the Sadness Sets Me Free album cover to life & managed to place me watching TV interference in a shipping container that’s lost in space.”
Celestial Candyfloss is a poppy, trippy and vibey tune.

Former Super Furry Animals ringleader GRUFF RHYS
canned a new solo LP, already his seventh. Order info
about Seeking New Gods right here.
“The album is about people and the civilizations, and the spaces people
inhabit over periods of time. How people come and go but the geology
sticks around and changes more slowly. I think it’s about memory and
time,” says Rhys.

Fifth LP by singer/storyteller Konstantin Gropper. The record “is about fear in all its forms. Fear as a motivator, as an obstacle, as a consultant, and as a political weapon, both socially and privately”. Sonically it moves, feels and sounds like a musical. A truly intriguing journey.
