Happy 73 Godfather Of Punk

21 April 2020

Living rock legend James Newell Osterberg Jr. aka IGGY POP was born 73 years ago,
on 21 April 1947 in Muskegon, Michigan. Twenty years later, in 1967, he formed the
iconic punk gang THE STOOGES who shocked, on record but most of all because of their raw power energy, the whole conservative American rock scene. As we all remember he wanted to be your dog and turned his bored no fun live into a long wild journey.

Afterward, he scored a brilliant naked chest career with several rad longplayers and his non-stop live escapades. He’s without a shadow of a doubt one of the most influential artists ever. Countless youngsters formed a band the moment they discovered the manic Godfather of punk.

Here are five awesome live performances I picked to celebrate the 73rd birthday of this lust for life madman.

– SIXTEEN –
(‘Sweet sixteen in leather boots‘)

– I WANNA BE YOUR DOG –
(‘Now we’re gonna be face-to-face’)

– LUST FOR LIFE –
(Totally mental performance!)

– THE PASSENGER –
(‘Lalalalalalalaalalalala‘)

– JAMES BOND –
