LCD SOUNDSYSTEM Released Their Self-Titled Party Debut Album Today 20 Years Ago

24 January 2025

Singer-songwriter-producer James Murphy and his
band LCD Soundsytem released their Self-Titled Debut LP
today 20 years ago on 24 January 2005

Pitchfork: “LCD makes substance from style, content from form, something from
nothing. That’s a rockist attitude, of course, but then LCD Soundsystem is a rockist
fantasy: full command of the history with none of the high-caloric obligation to
“meaning” or purity. Murphy even puts together a live show that out-pummels
the noise bands a borough over.

The worst I can say about LCD Soundsystem is that there are precious few
moments that stand up next to his most lauded singles. Plenty of good,
not-great stuff, and a tad unfocused.”

TUTV: An addictive mix of trippy house beats, synth-post-punk
glamour, danceable garage rock infusions and catchy psych-pop
thrills. If that doesn’t trigger you to put on your blue suede shoes
and make your best moves, nothing will. Partyyy time, folks!

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM Drop New Beep & Bleeb Single ‘X-RAY EYES – New Album In 2025

3 November 2024

Single artwork

One year ago we got the first new music in 5 years from
James Murphy and his musical vehicle LCD SOUNDSYSTEM.

A song named New Body Rhumba, that was part of the soundtrack
of the movie White Noise based on the 1985 novel by American author
Don DeLillo.

And suddenly, after some teasing, here’s new single X-RAY EYES.
A simple, but catchy beep & bleep tune that goes like this.

Have a listen right here.

.
The news of a new album in 2025, the first since
American Dream from 2017, came in too.

Also is LCD S already on the bill of some upcoming festivals like Primavera Sound Barcelona (4-8 June 2025). A press release confirmed their presence: “Almost twenty
years after giving the world this dance-rock ode to friendship, the influential band led by
James Murphy will come back to the festival (and with a new album!) to make it clear that, although they are an inherent part of our best memories, their time is always now.”

WAKE-UP CALL – The Return Of JAMES MURPHY And LCD SOUNDSYSTEM

Works faster than caffeine

30 September 2022

Finally back on track. James Murphy and his musical vehicle LCD SOUNDSYTEM
is part of the soundtrack of the movie White Noise based on the 1985 novel by
American author Don DeLillo.

LCD Soundsytem still sounds like LC Soundsystem. New piece NEW BODY RHUMBA
has that familiar hypnotic and groovy speed-up rhythm propelled by a steady bass riff, guitars popping up now and then and Murphy singing with his characteristic, nervous voice. Just what you need to make your day.

Catch the catchy vibes.
