Happy 80 To JOHN FOGERTY

28 May 2025

Singer-songwriter-guitarist JOHN FOGERTY
was born in Berkeley (CA) on 28 May 1945.

Happy 80 to the former chief of rock legends CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL
(1959–1972 / 7 LPs). The band’s split-up was a nasty one with several legal suits of
CCR vs John Fogerty, lasting for years. Only recently he got the rights back for all
the songs he wrote.

Anyway, Fogerty started a successful solo career
(9 LPs so far) and still a one-man travellin’ band.

JOHN FOGERTY – Former CCR Maestro Scored No. 1 Hit In The US With His 3rd Solo LP ‘CENTERFIELD’ 40 Years Ago Today

Great longplayers from yesteryear

23 March 2025

60s/70s country rock hit machine Creedence Clearwater Revival broke
up in 1972 after a series of hit singles/albums. The split was a hostile
affair, everybody sued everybody.

Frontman/songwriter JOHN FOGERTY started his solo career a year later.

In 1973 he released his solo debut The Blue Ridge Rangers, but it was with
his 3rd LP CENTERFIELD that he scored his first No. 1 in the US. It went to the
top seat this day 40 years ago, on 23 March 2025.

The album is dedicated to Gossamer Wump, Fogerty said in an interview, “When I was a young kid, my brothers had a record called ‘The Adventures of Gossamer Wump.’ Gossamer Wump is a little kid who saw a big parade comin’ down the road and thinks ‘Hey, this is what
I want, I want to be a musician.’

AllMusic said: “For as knowingly nostalgic as Centerfield is, deliberately mining
from Fogerty’s childhood memories and consciously referencing his older tunes,
the album is steeped in the mid-‘80s.”

JOHN FOGERTY And His Travellin’ Band Rocked All Over Belgium

15 July 2024

Country-rock-blues band CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, fronted by
living legend JOHN FOGERTY, were one of the most famous bands on the
planet from 1967 to 1972. They had multiple hit singles and released 7 LPs
before the band broke up following several rows between the members.

(Photo taken from the big screen next to the stage)

Fogerty went solo and recorded/released 10 albums (so far). At 79, he’s still touring.
Last Saturday he played at Rock Zottegem Festival – Belgium (20 minutes from
where I live).

It was a celebration of the glorious past of CCR, a retro jukebox revival with an
audience of 25.000, young and old, 3 generations, singing along for 90 minutes
to timeless classics such as Bad Moon Rising, Up Around The Bend, Green River,
Travellin’ Band
and of course Proud Mary.

It’s not only about the historic hits itselves, also about but the terrifically electrifying
way Fogerty and his excellent band bring them, with his fantastic Americana voice
lifting the songs to a monumental level.

Great artists unite people and make them feel euphorically happy. John Fogerty is one of them. After all these years he knows all the tricks to entertain people from start to finish with a salvo of country-blues-rock earworms, and he was as enthusiastic as all of us and thanking the crowd several times for still loving his songs, singing them along and for being still able at his age to rock all over the world.

Unforgettable concert! Genuine legend!

Thanks to a fan in the front you can watch/experience the full concert.
The sound is not great, but the footage it gives you an idea of Fogerty‘s
arousing performance.

Happy 79 To Former CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL Voice/Face JOHN FOGERTY

28 May 2024

JOHN CAMERON FOGERTY was born Berkeley, California on 28 May 1945.

Happy 79 to the voice/face and maestro of historic travelin’ band CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (including his brother Tom) who were a hit machine with
multiple classic singles and no less than 7 LPs in 5 years (1967-1972).

The band split up with angry arguing and legal battles.

John started a successful solo career and released (so far) 10 albums.
He’s still active (will see him next July in Belgium at Rock Zottegem Fest).

C.C.R.’s Commander JOHN FOGERTY Gets The Rights Of The Band’s Catalogue… After 50 Years

16 January 2023

77-year-old JOHN FOGERTY, the legendary singer-songwriter and main man-voice-face
of memorable American rockers CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (also named in short C.C.R. featuring John & Tom Fogerty, Doug Clifford and Stu Cook) has finally, after a legal battle of 50 years with bandmates/labels/publishers the rights of the band’s full catalog
of which the major part of the songs was written by him.

John Fogerty: “As of this January, I own my own songs again. This is something
I thought would never be a possibility. After 50 years, I am finally reunited with my
songs. I also have a say in where and how my songs are used. Up until this year,
that is something I have never been able to do.”

These and the countless other songs are yours again, Fortunate Son.

JOHN FOGERTY Shares Scary Reflection ‘WEEPING IN THE PROMISED LAND’

Daily electricity to reload your batteries…

7 January 2021

Living Creedence Clearwater Revival legend JOHN FOGERTY doesn’t like, as millions
with him, what happened in the Divided States Of America in 2020. In a new Bruce Springsteen-esque gospel ballad called WEEPING IN THE PROMISED LAND he firmly
criticizes the worst President ever, the police murders of black people – George Floyd
and Breonna Taylor
– and he also reflects on the deadly pandemic crisis.

In the light of the disgusting events on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. yesterday,
this song gets an even scarier significance. America is sick, really sick and Trump
is its ugly virus.

Play it, John
