PRETENDERS Share Romantic Lullaby ‘I THINK ABOUT YOU DAILY’ From Their Forthcoming LP

New striking strokes

20 June 2023

Last month CHRISSIE HYNDE and her PRETENDERS announced that their new LP,
the 12th, titled Relentless, will come out on September 1. The news was accompanied
by the jangly lead single Let The Sun Come In.

Soon after (30 May) I saw the band play a cooking show in Antwerp, Belgium,
with Hynde turning all cylinders on like an eager Riot grrrl, despite being 71.

And now the stars share a second appetizer named I THINK ABOUT YOU DAILY.
A romantic and nostalgic piano ballad. It also features a string arrangement from Radiohead‘s multi-instrumentalist Johny Greenwood, who also conducted the
12 Ensemble in the recording session.

Hynde about Greenwood: “I met Jonny a couple of times, and we’re obviously big fans
of him because he’s done some incredible music over the years. I saw him at the Phantom Thread premiere, where the film was running onscreen with a live orchestra playing. And we spoke afterward and he expressed an interest in doing something one day. I was thrilled and very surprised. He also came down to see a Valve Bone Woe show we were doing in the basement of a Pizza Express. So when we discussed the idea of getting strings on “I Think
About You Daily,” he was the first choice. Legend!”

Dim the light, sit down, relax and lit a candle.

Rock For The Rich With THE SMILE (feat. Thom Yorke)

Who’s on the road

2 February 2022

Supergroup THE SMILE feat. Radiohead boys Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood
and Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner hit the road this Spring/Summer for
an extensive European tour.

For their small venue gigs they charge 70 euros / 80 US Dolars / 60 Pounds.

This is rock ‘n’ roll played by billionaires for the rich only. For youngsters
or the ones with a low-payed job, this is a fortune to go and see these greedy
guys so they can stay in 5-star hotels, drinking champagne and eating caviar
for breakfast before taking a giant limo to the gig. Scandalous!

Hail to the Thieves!

If you want to see THE SMILE play their new single
THE SMOKE live on stage you can always rob a bank…

THE SMILE: Moneybook

(Ps: Nick Cave and Waren Ellis charged as much per concert on their recent tour. Capitalists!)
