Band: WETSUIT
Who: Indie hit team
from Brooklyn, NY.

Track: MIDWEST DREAM

At its core, it’s a tribute to frontwoman Allison Becker’s mother.
The song is a personal reflection, an exploration of her
changing relationship with her mom as she grows older.

Becker: “I grew up in St. Louis, where there’s a saying: ‘If you don’t like the weather, wait
5 minutes.’ As a Midwest girl, I can confirm the weather does change every 5 minutes, but the saying is why I embrace the seasons and changes in life. There’s so much you can’t control, and sometimes it’s all about finding the little pleasures and riding out the storm. That sentiment echoes throughout the song, especially in the refrain: “They say if you don’t like the weather, wait and it will go.”

TUTV: Midwest Dream is a fabulous, pepped-up pop gem for all weathers, all seasons,
all hours of the day, spiced with high-voltage guitars, Becker‘s heart-rending vocals and
an evocative chorus. Don’t wait 5 minutes to play it on repeat. Bingo.

Band: KATHMANDU
Who: Alternative four-piece band from The Netherlands, led by songwriter and lyricist Donna Marie. Their catchy dreamy songs thrive on the tension between light and dark, exploring the spaces where the two meet.

Track: DIFFERENT LIFE

Donna Marie: “I wanted to write a song that doesn’t just talk about freedom, but actually sounds like it. That expresses this urge to escape and create a fresh start for yourself. What
I wanted to convey is that it is never too late to start over. But you need to initiate it yourself.
No one else will do it for you.”

TUTV: Brisk and energetic, juiced with sensuous vocals
and a shaky chorus. A refreshing, stimulative, amplified
pop debut thrill.

Clap your hands to the beat. Right here.

Artists: TIME AND THE HUNTER
Who: The visionary musical project
of Enrico Longhin and Niklas Sundin.

Track: THE FOLLOWING SILENCE
From their upcoming debut album Weapon Pt. 1
scheduled for release on 25th April.

“It’s a deeply introspective piece. When we reached this stage of the arrangements, we immediately thought of Mikael as a guest. He had been following the project’s development behind the scenes, and his contribution to the lyrics was a perfect fit for both his voice and the song’s message.”

TUTV: The Following Silence echoes the gothic powerfulness of former Bauhaus maestro Peter Murphy’s solo work. Well, that’s what my excited ears tell me. Its polyphonic dynamic lifts the overall resonance to a melodramatic level that stirs, arouses and incites. Triumphant piece.

Band: BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD
Who: English indies who keep
on climbing up the indie ladder.

Track: FOR THE OLD COUNTRY
Piece from their forthcoming 3rd album,
named Forever Howlong. Out 4th April.

TUTV: BC, NR should write an indie opera and open it with this chant.

Band: VIRGIN BIRTH
Who: An industrial synth-punk duo based in Louisville, Kentucky. Both musicians
bring deep roots in punk and indie rock, having played in various bands over the
years.

Track: I CAN’T READ
New single from their full-length record titled Total Annihilation,
which is set to be released on May 4th via Never Nervous Records.

Lyrically, the song explores the frustration and confusion that comes with misinterpreting seemingly straightforward conversations, especially in digital communication like emails and text messages. It delves into the nuances of language, the gaps between intention and perception, and the subtle misunderstandings that can arise when tone and context are lost in written exchanges.

TUTV: This razor blade industrial shocker spikes your terrified head with
nine inch nails and attacks your ears with synth-injected-frenzy. Trust me, it’s
totally worth it.

Artist:
Who: Moniker for Danish EBM songstress
Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted Andersen.

Track: KEEP MOVING
New single from her upcoming 4th LP,
called Plæygirl. Out on May 16.

: “It’s an ironic take on my endless to-do list. It’s about the feeling of unravelling under
the weight of everybody’s expectations, including my own, whilst also secretly dreaming of being set free from this constantly shifting, absolutely mental Western world. I have never enjoyed recording ad-libs as much as I did screaming “BUAH!” in the chorus – definitely my favourite ad-libs ever. The lyrics come from a place of real frustration, but writing and performing this one heals me too.”

TUTV: MØtastic move!

Band: PAYOLA
Who: London/ Essex based 5 piece formed at the start of 2024 united by a love for music and the desire to bring something fresh and exciting to the guitar driven new music scene.

Track: PULSE JET MAN

“The idea behind Pulse Jet Man is that it is the persona you take on when you want to be something that you don’t think you can be. It’s the person you want to see looking back
in the mirror, not what the actual reflection portrays. Be that a hero, a thief, a heartbreaker
or an astronaut. Everyone has a bit of pulse jet in them. C’mon, c’mon.”

Press info: ‘Pulse Jet Man’ from the very start is full of thrashing, pounding drums and distorted, fuzzing, snarling guitars. It’s a frenzy of electrifying sound that doesn’t let up throughout. There’s a certain urgency contained in the melody, the chorus hooks are anthemic and just as unrelenting. It’s a raw and powerful track befitting of a true rock
and roll.

TUTV: This riff-ripper goes fast-forward from the get-go. No brakes, no breaks,
no mistakes. Hungry guitars, perturbed vocals and a cutting chorus combine for
a crackerjack discharge.

Press play.

Band: THE SPORKS
Who: Fresh indies from Wales who are here to feed you their own blend of retro rock originals. Out of the mouths of babes, they have laid the foundations of a freshly interpreted sound to inspire their creations.

Track: STATE OF YOU
Their 2nd single.

Press info: With the raw grit of The Black Keys, punch of Supergrass, and a touch of Hendrix swagger, this track grabs you from the first bar and doesn’t let go with its driving grooves, infectious hooks and lyrically mature mix of admiration and frustration.

TUTV: Barbed wire 60s garage blues rock from the basement. Raw and rough.
