B-52’s voice/face/wig KATE PIERSON (aged 76 now) launches her 2nd solo LP, named Radio And Rainbows on September 20th, nine after her debut Guitars And Microphones.
Kate: “It’s a disco song that conjures a younger Kate back in the day when
I just couldn’t wait to get into clubs. It takes me back to my Party Girl past!”
Former B-52 voice/face/wig KATE PIERSON (aged 76 now) will have her second solo LP, baptized Radio And Rainbows out on September 20th, nine 9 years after her debut Guitars And Microphones.
Pierson about the album: “It’s an eclectic group of songs, anthems, dance things, a disco song. Overall, the album has an upbeat vibe because I wanted to put out something positive in these dark times. I wanted to make it fun!”
Pierson: “Sometimes evil love is the only love you need. A not so true tale of obsessive possessiveness and righteous revenge. I started out writing a song with the amazing Bleu with the idea of a song about forgiveness; but when our creative chemistries collided, the result was a noir thriller of a song set on the coast of Maine. And it’s one hell of a storm, so hang onto your hats for Evil Love !”
Evil Love is a retro pop pearl sounding as if it was recorded in the 60s
and Pierson‘s intense voice still resonates crystal clear. Touchdown.
KATE PIERSON, co-founder and one of the wig girls of Athens, Georgia legends The B-52’s released her debut solo album Guitars And Microphones 8 years
ago. In the meantime she was busy with The B-52’s farewell tour, but she comes
up now with a new single, a holiday one, titled EVERY DAY IS HALLOWEEN,
co-written with Sia Furler.
It’s a jubilant and chipper dance-pop upper with great Pierson vocals. Halloween will be a perky disco party this year. I’ll have it.
