Former Sonic Youth icon KIM GORDON made one of the best and most intriguing
albums of the year with her debut solo LP No Home Record. One of the top tracks
is love ballad ‘EARTHQUAKE‘ which Gordon dedicates to a mysterious lover. She
sounds enigmatic, obsessed and utterly cool. Definitely not your average love song.
This song is for you
If I could cry and shake for you
I’d lay awake for you

Artist: Kim Gordon Album : No Home Record Released: 11 October 2019 Sound: Mind-puzzling, left-field, innovatory, voltaic,
erratic, cutting, wayward and overall ACE Independent verdict: 4/5 – review here
First solo album titled ‘NO HOME RECORD’ by co-founder and former Sonic Youth
icon KIM GORDON will be out next week, 13th October. So far the eternally charismatic Gordon has revealed experimental lead single ‘‘Sketch Artist’, riveting ripper ‘Air BnB‘
and nasty eruption (already released last year) ‘Murdered Out’. And before the LP drops here’s another fresh cut, the most furious one so far. ‘HUNGRY BABY‘ is a mind-crushing jackhammer, both haunting and rip-roaring. Looks like Gordon‘s solo debut longplayer will be a smashing ripsnorter.
Co-founder and former Sonic Youth queen KIM GORDON already announced her first solo album, titled ‘NO HOME RECORD’ a few weeks ago and dropped the surprisingly experimental lead single ‘‘SKETCH ARTIST’. And now here’s an equally astounding fresh cut called ‘AIR BnB‘. A strong-willed jackhammer with a gloomy fever and vehement drift. Seems like Gordon is on her way to make a most riveting impact with her new LP.
Here’s the odd accompanying low budget video in which Kim Gordon explains how the clip would have looked like if she had more money to make it….
Co-founder and Sonic Youth icon KIM GORDON was involved in several projects after
the influential band split in 2011. She just announced her first solo longplayer called ‘NO HOME RECORD’ and dropped the surprisingly experimental single ‘ SKETCH ARTIST‘. A fascinating bass synth dominated groove that grabs your aural attention all the way.
Here’s the video featuring actor Abbi Jacobson from American television sitcom Broad City…
BODY/HEAD, the musical project featuring ex-Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and experimental guitarist Bill Nace will launch new, second, full length THE SWITCH on 13 July via Matador records. More info here. Ahead of its release here’s first, dark single ‘YOU DON’T NEED’. An extended, monotone and repetitive slow-mo guitar stroll going on like forever with Gordon bemoaning voice all over it. Ominous and bizarre. Here’s the obscure trip…
