Sometimes I wonder if this project is 4 real and is not some sci-fi creation of Space
Odyssey maestro Stanley Kubrick pretending it’s human. Anyway, listen/watch and
have a Close Encounter of the Third Kind experience after the melancholia of the title
track.

The Coney Island Mermaid Parade. Summer pop fever in colorful motion from the

This year was the 40th Parade

OTTO VON RUGGINS about the song and its video clip: “I wrote Summer Days a lifetime ago, in 1967, thinking it was in The Rascals style. I came across the lyrics recently & after playing the old music, I figured it needed some new music for today, which I had created in the Spring during my break at work using my iPad. Enter Summer Days & my concept of the most familiar iconic event that ushers in the Summer – Coney’s Island Mermaid Parade I have been videotaping these parades for over 30 years & this video is the pick of my best footage. As I worked on the video, I felt as though I had choreographed the participants to dance to my music & then captured it with my camera.”

Expect summer melancholia in sound and vision, and in thoughts. Gently weeping
guitars and psychedelic synth sketches move at the slo-mo speed of the parade
and vice versa. And Otto‘s wistful vocals complete the sepia-colored memory.

Back to the future sentiments all the way.

von Ruggins also is: “I teach the History of Rock and Roll using Little Steven (Van Zandt’s) curriculum @ teachrock.org at a local high school five minutes from my home. I’m one of eleven pilot teachers he chose in the entire country and I feel very blessed to get paid to play the music I grew up with. I remember Little Steven at The Electric Prunes concert in Williamsburg back in 2001 stating to vocalist James Lowe’s son that he had to carry the torch as the ‘60s was the greatest decade – he described it as the Renaissance Period. I have to agree – it was the only time in the history of rock and roll when the music changed the culture – getting a President (Johnson) not to run because of war protests and helping through marches and music to get civil rights legislation passed.”

Ultimate 2020 American Idiot Protest Song – KONGRESS With ‘THE UGLY AMERICAN’

KONGRESS featuring political troublemaker Otto von Ruggins is an experimental, New York based, act being around for light years. Their mix of Space-Goth-Tribal-New-Wave rock is thrillingly mental. Think legendary Devo fooling around with avant-garde weirdos The Residents. I know, anything can happen.

Latest single THE UGLY AMERICAN says it all. I’m quite sure this psych-o-delic saga is inspired by 1958 novel The Ugly American by Eugene Burdick and William Lederer.

“The concept of Freedom is not what it would seem to be, even here in the United States. Under the present regime, Freedom has been curtailed by the dictates of a White House that wants a purified race, purging its citizens randomly via weapons of war” says von Ruggins.

Need anymore hints about this loud and clear rant. I don’t think so. megalomaniac
Donald Dumped is, without a shadow of a doubt, the equivalent of the ugliest American ever in America’s political history, who tried/tries to shut up anybody who does not lick his ass and represents the historical evil forces of the land of the free and home of the brave.
