Waking Up With… LOS LOBOS Doing LA BAMBA
Works faster than caffeine
1 August 2022
To remember and honor Los Angeles musician RITCHIE VALENS, one of
the pioneers of rock ‘n’ roll who was only 17 when he died in a plane crash
in 1959, together with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper a biographical movie
was made in 1987 and named LA BAMBA after his biggest hit.
Tex-mex-rockers LOS LOBOS recorded a cover of the song for the film’s
soundtrack. It became a huge hit topping the UK and the US singles charts
35 years ago today, on 1 August 1987.
If this firecracker doesn’t make you want to kick
this blue Monday in the face, I don’t know what will.
