THE KILLS – ‘Impossible Tracks’ – Live On American TV – The Late Late Show 2016

Ecstatic live performances

THE KILLS playing ‘Impossible Tracks‘ on The Late Late Show
in February 2016. Sexy, sassy, steamy and shaking. Perfect!…
One of the coolest live bands that ever walked this planet.

Some months later that year, in October, Turn Up The Volume! saw them
playing, a hell-raising concert, in the legendary Paradiso Club in Amsterdam

I see you, Allison

Best New Band Of The Year BODEGA Plays Live For KEXP RADIO In SEATTLE…

Ecstatic live performances

18 October 2018

If said it before and I will repeat it again and again. New York‘s vibrant hit-and-kick quintet BODEGA is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most exciting, new band of 2018. They spit and sneer sharper and hookier than their jingle jangle mentors Parquet Courts, they sound like if Talking Heads and Tom Verlaine’s Television were punks rather than new wavers and they rattle as cutting as those British outsiders Delta 5 once did. Their debut
album ENDLESS SCROLL is a crackling ripper and you can watch them here playing four songs of that standout record in the KEXP radio studio in SEATTLE last August.

ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN Shone Like Stars Yesterday On BBC TV Show ‘Later… With Jools Holland’

Ecstatic live performances

Yesterday Liverpool legends ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN appeared on the legendary BBC2 TV show ‘Later… with Jools Holland‘ playing two tracks from brand new LP THE STARS, THE OCEAN & THE MOON. On this latest album the band, led by original members Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant transformed several key songs of their brilliant career. Many
of their famous crackers got a new sonic dress and it suits them tremendously well. They performed two songs. The still magical ‘Bring On The Dancing Horses‘ and the magnificent ‘The Somnambulist‘ one of the two new ones on the longplayer. Gonna see them myself
live soon for the 30th time. C’mon, Ian, you still sound fabulous…

BELLY – ‘Human Child’ – Rockwood Music Hall NEW YORK 2018…

Ecstatic live performances

A stirring vox and a heart-touching pop pearl. Need no more to create magic…

We hold life tight to our chests
Slip it on like a dress
We’re oh so faithfully possessed
We let ourselves be owned by things long gone
Old photographs, old songs
Wrap us in ghosts

Oh human child
Your face to the wind, your back to the sun
Oh human child
You’re digging up bones and miss all the fun

I’m not here to save you I’m just trying to get you outside
Get yourself out of your way and pull your head out of the shade

A bird takes off into above
We follow with our eyes but never grab hold, never own it
That’s as it should be, as it was and ever will be
So let’s stop moaning, stop your sobbing

Oh human child
Your face to the wind, your back to the sun
Oh human child
You’re digging up bones and miss all the fun

I’m not here to save you I’m just trying to get you outside
Get yourself out of your way and pull your head out of the shade

Nothing ever dies but we still gotta let it go
Let your beauty sing across time and stop tryin’ oh no no
Nothing ever dies but we still gotta let it go

Some trick of the light pulls me upright
Makes me laugh out loud into the emptiness
Some pull on the hair, somebody there
Makes me stare wide eyes into the emptiness

Oh human child
Your face to the wind, your back to the sun
Oh human child
You’re digging up bones and miss every point

It’s a beautiful night, I’m here to drag you outside
Pull your head out of the shade, my sun-blessed babe
It’s a beautiful night, I’m here to drag you outside
Pull your ass out of the shade, my sun-blessed baby
