LIVE KICK OF THE DAY – When The FANS Of THE STONE ROSES Want To Be Adored

One live track a day keeps the doctor away

1. The Stone Rosesself-titled album (1989) is
one of the best debuts in modern rock history.

2. The Stone Roses in London in 1994 is one of the best concerts I ever saw.
An awesome buzz from start to finish (even Ian Brown sang in tune).

3. They did some ‘take the money and run‘ tours
between 2012 and 2016. Greedy bastards.

But the fans in Manchester in 2016 didn’t care.
They all wanted to be adored

LIVE KICK OF THE DAY – Hearty Rocker TORRES With ‘ARE YOU SLEEPWALKING?’

One live track a day keeps the doctor away

She has a dead drop gorgeous voice, she rocks dead drop gorgeous, she looks deadrop gorgeous and she wears dead drop gorgeous cowboy boots. She’s Orlando born, New York based songstress TORRES (born Mackenzie Ruth Scott). Last year she released her 5th longplayer, titled Thirstier. A highly acclaimed triumph.

“Anthemic and euphoric, loaded with hooks and
joyous reflections on love and self-discovery.”

Pitchfork

And last Thursday, she played (for the 2nd time) in a club in my hometown of Ghent, Belgium). We were all impressed in a hypnotic way, all eyes and ears on Torres (“you are
so polite
“) who went buck wild at times while producing raw garage punk rock electricity.

This KEXP live performance of Are You Sleepwalking?, the pithy opening groove
from last year’s album, will give you an idea of what Ghent experienced.

SLEAFORD MODS + AMYL (From THE SNIFFERS) Nudge It Together

One live track a day keeps the doctor away

Last November razor-sharp-rapping poets SLEAFORD MODS made
some havoc in their hometown, Nottingham. Six of the performed tracks
(2 of the latest album ‘Spare Ribs’, a cover of Yazoo’s ‘Don’t Go and 2 oldies)
were released this year, in April, on a live EP called Live At Nottz Arena.

It includes the track Nudge It that features the awesome Amyl Taylor,
from Aussie punk rockers Amyl And The Sniffers.

She joined the two mods at the said show to perform that firecracker.

Let’s rap and roll
