24 April 2026

On June 16, indie icons THE SMITHS‘s
masterpiece The Queen Is Dead turns 40.

In this month’s UNCUT cover story, the band’s Mike Joyce (62 now)

“On a personal level, being in The Smiths was massively intense. That feeling between four people in a band doesn’t happen very often. With The Smiths, it was everything — the four
of us, every single day. We all understood what we had, and that’s what set us apart from
any other band I’d been in.”

The Queen Is Dead

to Talk Talk’s magnum opus Spirit Of Eden, plus more new interviews with The Lemon Twigs,
Jeff Parker, Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien
, The Human League, Laurie Anderson, and an extended report from the opening night of Springsteen’s Land Of Hope And Dreams tour in Minneapolis, and much more to read.

ROXY MUSIC In 5 Magazine Covers

British icons ROXY MUSIC were crème de la crème on the showy, flashy, glittery
glam rock scene with their first spectacular run between 1970 and 1976 with 4 terrific
longplayers. Their flamboyant, androgynous costumes and makeup were part of their
eye-popping identity.

Eccentric keyboardist/musical orchestrator Brian Eno, who looked like a sort
pop star from outer space left after 2LPs and started a remarkable career as a
producer (U2, David Byrne, Paul Simon, David Bowie, John Cale, and many more)
and a solo/collaborative artist.

A first reunion occurred between 1978 and 1983,
a 2nd one between 2001 and 2011, with 3 more
albums added to the first 4 ones.

MOJO The Collectors’ Series: New Edition With BOB DYLAN ESSENTIALS

10 March 2026

When BOB DYLAN inked a deal with Columbia Records back in 1961, many people found the label’s decision to sign a middle-class white boy, styling himself as a careworn blues and folk singer, faintly absurd. Yet within a few years, the young Dylan would be hailed
as a prophet and revolutionise music in ways few could ever have dared to imagine.

His appeal was cemented by his visionary lyrics, and the images and wisdom they contain have given fans and scholars plenty to muse upon for the last 55 years. Meanwhile, music has flowed from him like an unstoppable river, each new phase delivering more timeless classics.

Which is where Bob Dylan Essentials comes in, written by MOJO’s team of experts,
this sumptuous 132-page bookazine is designed to guide you through the maze of
Dylan
material out there.

Album by album, shedding new light on Bob’s songcraft and musicianship, and pulling
no punches when it comes to determining what’s indispensable, enjoyable, worth serious investigation or simply warrants a cursory spin.

We also look at Dylan-related films and documentaries,
and recommend the very finest in his literature.

New MOJO Collectors Series Edition: OZZY And BLACK SABBATH CHANGES 1948-2025

22 December 2025

When OZZY OSBOURNE passed away last July, rock lost one of its greatest icons – a fact underlined by the raft of metal legends that jostled to appear on the bill with Ozzy and Black Sabbath at their farewell ‘Back To The Beginning’ concert at Villa Park, Birmingham, just two weeks before Osbourne’s death. That the singer was able to say a final ‘thank you’ to his army of fans provided an emotional end to an extraordinary journey that started way back in the late ’60s, when Sabbath formed in the back streets of Birmingham.

In this sumptuous special edition, MOJO’s writers unfold Ozzy and Sabbath’s turbulent stories and celebrate their incredible music, which all but invented heavy metal. Sabbath’s early years are put under the microscope, follow their swift rise to international stardom, and reveal how Sabbath survived Ozzy’s dramatic sacking in 1979.

Far from ending his musical adventures, Ozzy’s departure from the band kickstarted
a hugely successful solo career up to his miraculous reunion with Sabbath in 2013.

With dozens of rare and iconic images, and an appreciation of every Sabbath studio LP, Changes 1948-2025 is an essential purchase for all serious music connoisseurs and the perfect festive gift for every Ozzy fan.
