British beat band MANFRED MANN (1962-1969), named after its founder and
keyboardist who later formed Manfred Mann’s Earth Band scored several hits. One
of them was DO WHA DIDDY which topped the UK Charts on 13 August 1964, today
60 years ago.

A song written by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich and originally recorded in 1963, as
Do-Wah-Diddy“, by the American vocal group the Exciters but it was MM’s version
that became a world hit.
