Happy 60 to Guitar Hero And Down To Earth Rock Star JOHNNY MARR

Singer/songwriter and one of the most inspiring and genial guitarists of his generation JOHNNY MARR was born as John Martin Maher in Manchester on 31 October 1963.

Happy 60 to the musical maestro of indie legends The Smiths (1982-1987).
After playing/collaborating with multiple artists (Bryan Ferry, Chrissie Hynde,
Electronic, Modest Mouse, The The, The Cribs and many more) his productivity
and creativity got another enormous boost since he decided to go solo in 2013.

So far he released 4 solo LPs.

It’s Gonna Be A MARRY Christmas This Year – New Book ‘MARR’S GUITARS’ Out Today, Best Of Album On November 3

Former The Smiths guitar hero JOHNNY MARR who played also in big bands such as Modest Mouse, The Pretenders, The The, Electronic (with New Order’s Bernard Sumner) and
still rockin’ and rollin’ as a (down to earth) solo star, has a new book out today, named MARR’S GUITARS.

It traces Marr’s career from his teenage years to his recent work on the Bond soundtrack. Marr’s Guitars showcases the most significant of his superb collection of electric and acoustic guitars, revealing through them the evolution of his iconic sound and style of playing. Each guitar is identified with a crucial moment, a specific song or a particular sound.

And that’s not all. Marr will launch Spirit Power: The Best Of Johnny Marr, featuring a couple of new tunes on November 3. It celebrates the first ten years of his solo career. New book, new record. It’s gonna be a Marry Christmas this year.
