DEPECHE MODE – New Concert Movie ‘M’ In Cinemas Next October

Dark synth-pop experts DEPECHE MODE just announced a concert movie that’ll have
a limit theatrical event on October 28, and gives fans the opportunity to see frontman Dave Gahan and guitarist/songwriter Martin Gore on their journey “into the heart of Mexican culture’s relationship with death, framed by the iconic live performances”.

The film is directed by award-winning Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frias, and contains footage from the band’s three sold-out shows at the Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City from their lauded Memento Mori album tour. The band members also illustrate their multi-cultural influences and explore the connection between music, mortality, and Mexican tradition.

DAVE GAHAN was born, named David Callcott
in Epping, England 62 years ago today, on
9 May 1962.

Happy birthday to the man who’s been the charismatic face and vox of
British lionized darkwave heroes DEPECHE MODE for 44 (!) years now.

Last year they launched their 15th LP, called Memento Mori and went
on a massive world tour last and this year. No retirement forGahan yet.

Dark-pop-wave heroes DEPECHE MODE returned with their 15th album,
titled MEMENTO MORI last March. The first one without original member
Andy Fletcher who passed away last May – only 60 – following an aortic
dissection.

Since then, DM are touring the world and they will continue in 2024.

Last weekend, they performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

DEPECHE MODE Share 2nd Piece From Upcoming LP – Hear The Bleak ‘COSMOS IS MINE’ Track

Darkwave pop Goths DEPECHE MODE will share their new LP – their 15th – named MEMENTO MORI, with the world on 24 March. The first one without original member Andy Fletcher who passed away last May – only 60 – following an aortic dissection.

Dave Gahan: “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this
is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning. Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”

Following first single Ghosts Again comes a new piece called MY COSMOS IS MINE.
It’s a slo-mo pondering driven by a heavy synth-drum beat. The tone is shadowy and
bleak, but the song’s groove is so magnetic.

Dave Gahan: “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this
is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning. Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”

Finally, the first single, named GHOST AGAIN is out.

Gahan: “To me it just captures this perfect balance of melancholy and joy.”

Gore: “It’s not often that we record a song that I just don’t get sick of
listening to. I’m excited to be able to share it.”

Ghosts Again is a surprisingly simple feel-good tune. Sparkling synths,
starry-eyed Gahan vocals, and tremendously infectious. Sunshine after
rain. A sweet rainbow song.

The accompanying video is directed by celebrated
Dutch rock photographer/filmmaker Anton Corbijn.

So far DM didn’t share tracks from the forthcoming full-length yet.

To promote the LP a massive tour will start in March 2023.
