Happy 75 PETER FRAMPTON

22 April 2025

Singer-songwriter PETER FRAMPTON was born
in Kent, England on 22 April 1950. Happy 75!

He started his musical journey as a 16-year-old with 60s beat band The Herd (1965-69), moved on to Humble Pie (1969-1975, with the late Small Faces frontman Steve Marriott), and had a successful solo career afterward. In between, he worked with other artists such as George Harrison and David Bowie, who he toured with as a guitarist.

He gained worldwide fame with his 1976 double LP Frampton Comes
Alive!
. A million seller thanks to its huge hit Show Me The Way.

I’d rather have another listen to Humble Pie‘s blues
steamer Natural Born Bugie with Frampton on vocals.

Sonic knockouts from the past

Natural Born Bugie‘ by HUMBLE PIE
One of the first supergroups with Steve Marriott (from The Small Faces) and
wonder boy Peter Frampton (from The Herd) as the most famous members.
This was their successful debut single on Andrew Oldham‘s (original Rolling
Stones
manager) own label. The cracker hit #4 on the UK singles chart and
later on, the band became even bigger in America. Time to boogie, folks…
