went on to form a band to back him up for his solo work
called High Flying Birds.

So far he released 3 albums with them..

Self-titled debut album (2011)
Chasing Yesterday (2015)
Who Built The Moon? (2017)

For the singer/songwriter genius that’s enough material to
compile a best of. Self-confidence is Gallagher‘s middle name.
The compil is titled Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-2021).
18 songs, including 2 ones. Order info here.

The title of the album just came to me one afternoon, at the kitchen table.
It’s a saying isn’t it: “back the way we came.” I actually thought it was a great
title. Which is why it’s got vol 1. Because if there’s another one, I’m not coming
up with another title!
says The Chief.

Turn Up The Volume picked 1 track of the 3 albums.

– EVERYBODY’S ON THE RUN –
(From self-titled debut LP – 2011)

NOEL GALLAGHER Is Hopeful That ‘WE’RE GONNA GET THERE IN THE END’

1 January 2021

Here’s NOEL GALLAGHER‘s new year message. The wonderwall
who doesn’t look back in anger wrote this on his FB-page…

“Firstly let me wish everyone a Happy New Year. Things can only get better from here!! (saying that, they couldn’t get much worse could they?!)

Anyway I’ve been writing and noodling recently and I’ve made a little demo of a tune that I
wrote a couple of weeks ago and it actually came out sounding pretty good … the lyrics are quite apt for the times and I think I’d like to share it with you. The song is called WE’RE GONNA GET THERE IN THE END. Hope your hangovers aren’t too horrific. Hopefully we’ll catch up soon. PS. IT’S ONLY A DEMO. NG”

Prosit, Noel, you’re Turn Up The Volume‘s first pick of the day of 2021

BIG BLASTS FROM THE PAST – 5 Knockout Albums Turning 10 In 2021

1. WHAT DID YOU EXPECT FROM THE VACCINES? by THE VACCINES

Released: 11 March 2011 – debut LP
NME said: “By fusing elements of US pop-punk (the Ramones – not Blink 182), chillwave
(they too are obsessed with reverb) and classic good-time pop’n’roll (The Strokes, primetime Libs/KOL), The Vaccines have recorded an album that – if things continue to go their way – should serve to give British rock music a much-needed jolt in the arm.”

2. SKYING by THE HORRORS

Released: 11 July 2011 – third LP
Pitchfork said: “While they may have started out as all glittering surfaces, the Horrors have evolved into a dependable band making wide-reaching rock music. Whether a calculated retreat or just a natural maturation, the Horrors have found a sound more content with background and atmosphere, and it suits them nicely.”

3. NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS

Released: 17 October 2011 – self-titled debut LP
The Daily Mirror: “High Flying Birds is the best collection
of Noel Gallagher tunes since his Morning Glory days.”

4. LET ENGLAND SHAKE by PJ HARVEY

Released: 14 February 2011 – eight LP
AllMusic said: “Let England Shake’s’ songs, touching on the disastrous World War I naval strike that left more than 30,000 English soldiers dead. Her musical allusions are just as fascinating and pointed. Its complexities make it one of Harvey’s most powerful works.

5. SUCK IT AND SEE by ARCTIC MONKEYS

Released: 6 June 2011 – fourth LP
NME said: “Suck It and See’, then, is the band’s ‘Rubber Soul’. Much like how The Beatles spent the early part of their career penned in by commercial expectations, they broke out and proved they were much more than novelty love songs on their experimental, but concise sixth album.”

NOEL GALLAGHER Still Has His Dancing Shoes On – Here’s New Vibey Single ‘BLUE MOON RISING’…

New sonic impulses

30 January 2020

NOEL GALLAGHER and his HIGH FLYING BIRDS released their new single
BLUE MOON RISING‘ today. It’s the title track off a new EP, out on 6th March.

Gallagher about the new single: “How it manages to combine the influences of Metallica,
The Jesters Of Malice, Mantovani, Robinson Crusoe as well as Bob Marley AND The Wailers
is literally beyond me… oh, and it’s not about City
(note: the football club) by the way.”

With ‘Blue Moon Rising‘ Noel Gallagher continues his appetite for dancey tunes
which started with his previous EP ‘This Is The Place‘. To my ears the new track
has a sort of moody Chemical Brothers beat and turns brighter along its vibey way.

Move to the beat right here…
