RADIOHEAD Hit ICE For Using Their ‘LET DOWN’ Song In Video

RADIOHEAD have shared a brief statement addressed to the US’s
Immigration and Customs Enforcement who killed two American civilians,
after the Department of Homeland Security used a choral rendition of their
song LET DOWN (an absolute standout track from their standout 1997 LP
OK Computer):

“We demand that the amateurs in control of the ICE social media account take
it down. It ain’t funny, this song means a lot to us and other people, and you
don’t get to appropriate it without a fight.”

Also, go fuck yourselves.”

RADIOHEAD – Better Late Than Never

What? RADIOHEAD at the top of the
Billboard Hot 100 with Let Down,
28 years after it came out?

I love it. Let Down, is one of my absolute favs from their 1997 masterwork
OK Computer. And I’m not alone in this. It has more than 337 million
streams on Spotify, that’s 100+ million streams more than lead single
Paranoid Android.

It should have been No. 1, 28 years ago too, but hey, better late than never.

It was the band’s 4th one, making them stars in the US.

Rolling Stone said: “Unprecedentedly excellent, but they lack an
outstanding singer. Many of their tunes are pretty, none are eloquent.”

AllMusic said: “An album that feels like the overture for the arena rock
tour that it was, which makes it one of McCartney’s more consistent listens.”

For most critics and fans (including me)
Radiohead‘s 3rd longplayer is their best.

Mojo wrote: “Others may end up selling more, but in 20 years’ time
I’m betting OK Computer will be seen as the key record of 1997, the
one to take rock forward instead of artfully revamping images and
song-structures from an earlier era.”
