On 27 August 1992, the late genial JOHN LENNON’s handwritten lyrics for The Beatles’
24 Carat gem A DAY IN THE LIFE (the closing track on their sublime Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band LP) sold for £56,600 ($100,000) in an auction at Sotheby’s London.

Nearly two decades later, in 2010, the lyric sheet was auctioned again,
and purchased by an anonymous American buyer for $1,200,000.
