45 years ago today – 11 March 1978 – MEAT LOAF (the alter ego of the beloved rock
star Marvin Lee Aday who passed away last year in January, he was 74) started a record breaking 416-week run on the UK chart. with his blockbuster album BAT OUT OF HELL.

Despite those nine years the LP never reached #1 as it peaked at #9.To date, it has sold
in excess of 43 million copies worldwide and has been certified 14x Platinum by the RIAA.
