Big Boom Banger – Radiohead’s ED O’BRIEN Remixes MACCA

8 April 2021

Last December, beetle Paul McCartney released his praised album
McCartney III. He proved once more that he’s still one of the best
pop-song-writers in history.

As announced some time ago a re-worked version, McCartney III Imagined,
with covers and remixes by a notable list of guests such as Damon Albarn,
Blood Orange,Phoebe Bridgers, St. Vincent, Beck,
and plenty more arrives on
16 April.

So far Macca gave us two tasters: one by Dominic Fike and one by Beck.
But here comes one that made my speakers go nuts. Radiohead‘s awesome
guitarist Ed O’Brien remixed big boom banger Slidin’. He made it even more
explosive than the original.

Let’s roll

18th Solo Longplayer – ‘McCARTNEY III’ Out Now

20 December 200

Artist: PAUL McCARTNEY

Album: McCARTNEY III – 18th solo LP
Released: 18 December 2020

NME says: “Macca’s been whiling away the hours. The result? A stellar return to his three-decade-spanning series… ‘McCartney III’ arrives with no such musical era to end, but certainly has a new one to start. Recorded solo during lockdown in March, it doesn’t so much reflect a turning tide in McCartney’s life and music, but a wider pandemic-inspired shift.”
Full review: here. Score: 4/5.

Paul McCartney: “Like any bereavement, the only way out is to remember how good it was with John. Because I can’t get over the senseless act. I can’t think about it. I’m sure it’s some
form of denial. But denial is the only way that I can deal with it.”

Full, recent McCartney interview with The New York Times magazine here.

Turn Up The Volume: Macca still has it, still is an inspired songsmith.
But I prefer his previous, near-perfect LP Egypt Station.

Here’s III
