Turn Up The Volume picks 10 gems of favorite artists/bands

28 August 2022

From their supreme 1996 debut LP on Turn Up The Volume became a devoted,
and seeing them play a glam-tastic show for the first time in London, at the sold-out Astoria a year later I knew Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal would be big, but honestly
not as mega big as I thought. WOW! Never let them go.

MAGAZINE THIS!

PLACEBO released their 8th album NEVER LET ME GO last week.
Part of the promotion are of course, interviews like this one with
Kerrang!.

KERRANG!: “For almost three decades, Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal
have been masters of their own destiny, steering Placebo into whichever
creative waters they so choose. Now, after nine years lost at sea, the duo
have returned with Never Let Me Go, and prescient tales of loss, surveillance
and climate change.”

Another PLACEBO Album – Another Masterpiece For… Devoted Fans

25 March 2022

Band: PLACEBO (London)
Active: 1994-present / 8 studio LPs

New album: NEVER LET ME GO
First since 2013 LP Loud Like Love

Release: 25 March 2022 – Pre-order info here.

NME says: “The result is Placebo’s best and most consistent album since 2006’s dark, intoxicated ‘Meds’ – and might prove their most rejuvenating since 2003’s arena-filling
‘Sleeping With Ghosts’… ‘Never Let Me Go’ is a true renaissance record. It’s no ‘Metal
Machine Music’ or ‘Yeezus’, but a record that finds Placebo inspired and ready for a
new era, reinventing the rock veterans for the modern age.”

Full review here. Score 4/5.

Turn Up The Volume: Another Placebo record, another too familiar one,
another mediocre one. But as the cliché goes: another masterpiece for all
devoted fans, until the next one. I was a devoted fan… years ago.

AAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH – When HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY Cover PLACEBO

30 January 2021

Austrian post-black-metal bulldozer HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY
is getting ready for their new album MÆRE which hits the
streets on 16th February.

The closing track of the LP is a cover of Placebo‘s 2006
track Song To Say Goodbye from their Meds longplayer.

Harakiri‘s take is a sky-touching, staggering thunder and lighting
haymaker starting off with some classical piano touches before
exploding like a furious volcano with blazing aaarrrggghhh vocals.
