PLACEBO released their 8th album NEVER LET ME GO last week.
Part of the promotion are of course, interviews like this one with
Kerrang!.
KERRANG!: “For almost three decades, Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal
have been masters of their own destiny, steering Placebo into whichever
creative waters they so choose. Now, after nine years lost at sea, the duo
have returned with Never Let Me Go, and prescient tales of loss, surveillance
and climate change.”

Active: 1994-present / 8 studio LPs
New album: NEVER LET ME GO
First since 2013 LP Loud Like Love
Release: 25 March 2022 – Pre-order info here.
NME says: “The result is Placebo’s best and most consistent album since 2006’s dark, intoxicated ‘Meds’ – and might prove their most rejuvenating since 2003’s arena-filling
‘Sleeping With Ghosts’… ‘Never Let Me Go’ is a true renaissance record. It’s no ‘Metal
Machine Music’ or ‘Yeezus’, but a record that finds Placebo inspired and ready for a
new era, reinventing the rock veterans for the modern age.”

Turn Up The Volume: Another Placebo record, another too familiar one,
another mediocre one. But as the cliché goes: another masterpiece for all
devoted fans, until the next one. I was a devoted fan… years ago.

2. ‘Beautiful James’ by PLACEBO (UK)
Placebo‘s first single in 5 years.
Brian Molko (frontman): “If the song serves to irritate the squares and the
uptight, so gleefully be it. But it remains imperative for me that each listener
discovers their own personal story within it – I really don’t want to tell you
how to feel.”
Come in, James…

3. ‘Valentine’ by SNAIL MAIL
Lindsey Jordan aka Snail Mail throws her 2nd album,
titled Valentine at the world on 5th November.
Jordan: “I wanted to take as much time as possible with this record to
make sure I was happy with every detail before unleashing it unto y’all.
Referring to the process as the deepest level of catharsis and therapy I
have ever experienced would be a huge understatement. Valentine is
my child!”
