Sharp-tongued riot-rap crusaders PUBLIC ENEMY fronted by Chuck D, who
released a new solo LP, named Radio Armageddon, last May, and loudmouth
Flavor Flav dropped, out of the blue, a new album, their 16th, titled BLACK SKY
OVER THE PROSPECTS: APARTMENT 2025.

So far, it’s only available for streaming and buying on Bandcamp.

PE rant, roar, rage, rock and hip-rap-hop like in the old days, with loads
of razor-edged pizzazz, anti-establishment cry-outs and expressive chants.

As an ever politically outspoken gang, they can’t be missed in these
gruesome wartimes and with an egomaniacal macho in the White
House.

Public Enemy Apocalypse 2025… The Enemy Strikes Back
would have been a fitting album title too.

TUTV: Chuck D is at his razor blade sharp best when he fulminates against the rotten powers that be. And with that egomaniacal idiot Trump back in the White House there’s
a lot to get furious about. America wasn’t as divided as it is right now because of that deranged hate-preacher who normalizes sexism, racism, and overall intolerance.

Chuck D hips and hops, raps and claps, with knife-edged rhymes and riot-gun tirades, forth and back, left and right. He turns 65 in August, but he will never shut up and mouth off when it comes to expose all sorts of injustices. With or without Public Enemy he will always speak out against the oppressors in charge.

of ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions’ and ‘Fear of a Black Planet’, Public Enemy shifted strategy
a bit for their fourth album, Apocalypse 91… Arriving after two records where the words and music were equally labyrinthine, folding back on each other in dizzying, intoxicating ways, it
is a bit of a letdown to have Apocalypse be so direct, but there is no denying that the end result is still thrilling and satisfying, and remains one of the great records of the golden age of hip-hop.” Full review here. Score: 5/5.

Turn Up the Volume: My all-time favorite raging-and-roaring-rap motherfuckers.
They still beat them all today and a dangerous part of white America still fears a black nation. Even a nation of millions can’t hold Public Enemy back from bringing on the noise and shut the racists, sexists, and fascists down. Chuck D. and his loudmouthed gang ruled then, rule now and will do so in the future. Raise the roof!
