22 June 2020

A couple of weeks ago Turn Up Up The Volume named the new album ‘ELECTROMANIA
by Belgian singer/songwriter/musician rOZZAlbum Of the Day‘. You can read and hear all about it here. She’s a multifaceted, experimental and terrifically innovative and productive artist.

When doing research about roZZ for the aforementioned feature I discovered her cover of JOHNNY AND MARY, one of the most famous songs by the late great Robert Palmer. Her version is elegant, stylish, moody and respectful. A beauty.

ROBERT PALMER Scored No 1 US Hit With ‘ADDICTED TO LOVE’ On 3 May 1986…

Knockouts from the past

3 May 2019

The late great ROBERT PALMER scored a Number One hit in the US
33 years ago today, on 3 May 1986 with that big booming banger
ADDICTED TO LOVE. A 24 Karat Gold sockdolager of a tower of song.

The accompanying clip was a remarkable/memorable event in itself with Palmer backed by a group of sensual moving mannequins looking like robots with pale skin, red lips, layers of make-up, staring eyes and a cold, yet utterly cool expression on their face, following the style of women in the paintings of the late American artist Patrick Nagel .
