OASIS – Supreme Debut Album ‘DEFINITELY, MAYBE’ Gets Deluxe Anniversary Treatment For Its 30th Birthday

On 29 August, Manchester‘s heroes OASIS‘ supreme
life-celebrating debut LP DEFINITELY, MAYBE celebrates
its 30th birthday.

One of the best debuts ever. It came at a perfect moment as The Stone Roses blew their minds on drugs for five years after their astonishing 1989 debut LP and only delivered a half great second longplayer 3 months after the Gallagher brothers took the vacant place with D,M stuffed with spot-on anthems which fans are still singing word by word 30 years later.

On such occasions as this, a deluxe anniversary reissue is unavoidable.

So be it here too.

A limited edition of 4LP and 2CD plus exclusive coloured vinyl will see the day of
light on 30 August. It’ll feature unheard versions from the original discarded album session at Monnow Valley and outtakes from the definitive recording at Sawmills Studios, newly mixed for the first time by Noel. OASIS – Reunion Or Reissue Of Debut LP?

or message. Of course, it led immediately to all kind of speculations about a
possible reunion.

Quickly it transpired that it’s aerial footage of Sawmills Music Studio in Cornwall, England, where the band did recording sessions for Definitely Maybe, their staggering debut album, that kick-started all Oasis mania.

And here’s the thing. The LP celebrates its 30th birthday on August 30.
I guess the mystery is solved. The image is a teaser for an anniversary
reissue of DM.

Btw, already in October of last year, Liam Gallagher announced big concerts
in the UK/Ireland to celebrate the 30th birthday of Definitely, Maybe, playing it
in full. All concerts sold out in an eye blink.

He’ll be a rock ‘n’ roll star again, but on his own, again.

DAVID BOWIE – Deluxe Box Set Reissue Of Brilliant ‘ZIGGY STARDUST’ Album Comes In June

Late musical genius DAVID BOWIE flabbergasted the rock world with his seminal album THE RISE AND FALL ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS BACK IN 1972.

The news just came in that a deluxe 5CD and 1 Blu-Ray Audio set,
called ROCK ‘N’ ROLL STAR! will be out on June 147.

‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star!’ contains 29 unreleased tracks, covers early songwriting demos, recordings from The Arnold Corns, rehearsals at Haddon Hall, BBC sessions, singles, live performances, plus out-takes and alternative versions from the original album recording sessions, which have been newly mixed by original album producer, Ken Scott.

Here’s a taster. A Ziggy Stardust demo, recorded by Bowie on vocal
and acoustic guitar in March 1971 at Haddon Hall in Beckenham.

The audio-only Blu-Ray disc features the definitive 2012 remaster of the original Ziggy Stardust album in 96kHz/24bit PCM stereo, plus the album and additional mixes from 2003 in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 as well as the singles, out-takes and alternative versions in 96kHz/24 bit PCM stereo.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Star! also contains two books. The first is an extensive 112-page book with detailed liner notes, memorabilia, contemporary reviews and articles, rare photographs, as well as brand-new notes and interviews. Accompanying the main book is a 36-page compiled reproduction of Bowie’s personal Ziggy-era notebooks.
