ROBBIE WILLIAMS And BLACK SABBATH Guitarist TONI IOMMI Go Off On New Missile ‘ROCKET’

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

21 May 2025

I never thought I would feature ROBBIE WILLIAMS (51 now) here. But hey, my ears
decide what’s happening, and they tell me that his new single ROCKET is a blast.

It’s the first taster from his upcoming 13th album, his first in 6 years. It’s named BRITPOP and lands this Autumn. Williams invited Black Sabbath‘s Tony Iommi to give the track some extra punch with roasting riffs.

Williams: “I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music. I’ve worked with some of my heroes on this album; it’s raw, there are more guitars and it’s an album that’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. There’s some ‘Brit’ in there and there’s certainly some ‘pop’ too – I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album. ”

There’s also a whole lot of energy on “Rocket,” the lead single from Williams forthcoming
LP ‘Britpop’. It’s a charged-up pop-punk snorter with some serious Ramones/Undertones vibes, and it’s got guitar from the legendary Black Sabbath axe-wrecker Tony Iommi. We’re looking at a statement.

Wake up people, Robbie
is back. Take that.

ROCKET – Raucous Los Angeles Turbo Take Their Aim

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

11 February 2025

Band: ROCKET
Who: High-voltage rock unit
from Los Angeles, CA.

New single: TAKE YOUR AIM
Piece from their 2023 debut EP Versions Of You, which will be
reissued in April via Transgressive Records. Pre-order info here.

Alithea Tuttle (vocals/bass): “The indignant response to feeling misunderstood or taken advantage of by someone but not being able to confront them about it. It’s about a friendship that was built upon them taking more than they give and watching the friendship grow sour as time goes on. The verses illustrate the nature of the relationship; what that person says is what goes and no one can change their mind. The choruses fall back into the repetitiveness of overthinking; if this is all my fault like you say it is then take your aim.”

TUTV: Imagine Hole and L7 have a sonic pillow fight. Wowzers, yes? You bloody betcha. This Californian turbo build a nuclear wall-of-voltaic-grunge sound, enough to take your stereo out and having your poor neighbour call the anti-decibels police. Meanwhile front Amazon Alithea Tuttle adds sensual vocals but gets hurt by a toxic amor arrow. Oh fuck!

Smoking score.
