JOE WALSH (74) is best know as chief guitarist of country rock giants
Eagles. Before joining those superstars he had also played with his
own bands James Gang (1968-1972) and Barnstormer (1972-1973).

With the latter, he recorded two albums. He scored his first hit with
the opener, ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY of the second one, entitled
The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get.

Happy 70 To JOE WALSH – Singer/Songwriter And Virtuosic Guitar Legend…

Seventy years ago today – 20 November 1947 – Joseph Fidler Walsh, better know as
JOE WALSH was born in Wichita, Kansas, US. A brilliant guitarist and singer-songwriter
who played with bands such as James Gang, Barnstorm and The Party Boys while releasing solo albums in between. But he became globally famous when he joined legendary L.A. rockers the EAGLES in 1975 for their masterpiece LP HOTEL CALIFORNIA. To celebrate
the man’s 70th birthday here are three classic Walsh performances…

* ROCKY MOUNTAIN WAY (his most famous knockout – 1973)

* HOTEL CALIFORNIA (superb guitar play with the Eagles – live 1977)

* LIFE IN THE FAST LANE (from the Eagles ‘Hotel California LP based on a Walsh riff and here played with Ringo Starr’s All Star band)
