10CC Scored No 1 Hit In The UK With ‘RUBBER BULLETS’ 50 Years Ago Today

Top singles from the past

Guitar pop legends 10CC started their journey back in 1972 in Stockport, UK.
The group featured Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme.

The special thing about the band was, when it came to songwriting they had two
teams, Gouldman/Stewart for the catchy pop tunes (most of their hits) and Godley/Creme for experimenting with art and cinematically inspired writing. The four of them stayed together until 1976, Godley/Creme left during the recording process of the band’s 5th LP.

The tandem was replaced with other musicians, but from there on it was only 5CC.

Anyway, with the rad rocker RUBBER BULLETS they scored
one of their 3 number-one triumphs in the UK 50 years ago
today, on 22 June 1973.

Turn all cylinders on.
