THE STONE ROSES delivered a magnum opus, but from there on it was downhill.
Lawsuits, too much money, too many drugs, too lazy! Yet they managed to record
and release their 2nd and final LP Second Coming 5 years later. An underrated LP.
The masterpiece was released 34 years ago, on 2 May 1989, via small label Silvertone Records. Guitarist John Squire designed the iconic artwork for the front sleeve. It was inspired by American painter and abstract expressionist Jackson Pollock and expressed references to the May 1968 riots in Paris. The album sold over four million copies by now.
