Almost 25 years ago, utterly cool star rockers Garbage were chosen to score the theme song for the 1999 James Bond movie The World Is Not Enough. NME’s Godlike genius and the band’s diva Shirley Manson looks back.
The song features on Garbage‘s recent 35-track career collection named Anthology
Godlike NME genius, Scotland-born Shirley Manson at the start of Garbage.
I’m sure you know this daft couple by now.
And I’m sure you know what they do every Sunday.
This time they think they’re paranoid (which they are, right?)…
If you’re happy when it rains I assume that you don’t give a damn about blue Mondays..

Shirley Manson was born on 26 August 1966 in Edinburgh, Scotland .
Happy 55 to the fabulous frontwoman/lyricist of glowing rockers Garbage.
She was the first ever artist to receive the NME Icon Award. This says
it all about Shirley‘s outstanding career, but it was also an appreciation of
who she is as human being. A caring and combative feminist. And, yes,
she’s gorgeously beautiful and sexy. Genuine coolness.
To celebrate here are 3 fantastic Shirly Manson moments…
– I THINK I’M PARANOID –
– BLEED LIKE ME –
– NO GODS NO MASTERS –
