British Indie Teens AVIS HHave A Sunrising Future Ahead – Check Out Their Debut EP To Find Out Why

New striking strokes

20 April 2023

Band: AVIS
Who: Indies from the burgeoning creative scene
in and around the Hull and East Yorkshire area.

Debut EP: SUNRISE

It features 3 tracks.

SUNRISE

A vintage jangly indie tune centered around buzzy guitars and pepped up
with zest vocals and an instant-sticking chorus. Lyrically it touches on subjects
of anxiety and working out how to deal with life as it comes at you.

COPY PASTE STREETS

Another upbeat firecracker that triggers feet-and-head movements. The song
is a lyrical metaphor for the repetitive, architecture of many residential areas
around the UK, how it exacerbates a bland, monotonous lifestyle and a sense
of being forgotten.

ECHO CHAMBER

Here Avis slow down for a post-breakup reflection on ex-friends and how one of them bullied the other. Feeling outcast by the intimidation, there’s an internal conversation going on in the head of the persecuted one that personifies the alienation and how it
eats at the soul. Heartfelt (duet) vocals emphasise the song’s stress-painful story.

Overall a notable and very promising debut.
A sunrising future for the 4 teens waits around
the corner.

Tune in.

THE FLAMING LIPS – Vintage Moodiness With New Track…

Video clips that will impress your eyes and ears…

VivaVideo

‘Sunrise (Eyes Of The Young)’ by THE  FLAMING LIPS

The psychedelic Oklahoma veterans THE FLAMING LIPS, led by eccentric frontman Wayne Coyne, will release new album Oczy Mlody on 13 January. Here’s the video for the second track they just unveiled. SUNRISE (EYES OF THE YOUNG) is a truly beautiful, moody ballad reminding me of their spaced-out 2002 ‘Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots’ longplayer. Dreamy and melancholic splendor. In the clip you’ll see Coyne and cohorts playing in a small pink room along footage of the rising sun. The natural visuals are intercut with a nude woman – draped in rotoscoped bikini and devil horns – serving as the solar deity who orchestrates the rising and setting of the sun. Enjoy the heavyhearted reverie here…

Probably just like me, and everybody else, you have no idea what the title of the Lips’ new LP ‘Oczy Mlody’ means. No worries, Wayne Coyne will tell you all you need to know here…
