TAME IMPALA’s Brainchild KEVIN PARKER Makes You Dance Again With New Single ‘DRACULA’
New striking strokes
27 September 2025
Aussie band TAME IMPALA‘s brainchild Kevin Parker will launch
their 5th album, named Deadbeat that will land on October 17th.
The man gave us 2 tasters so far, and here’s number 3.
DRACULA is unmistakable TI. Disco beats, throbbing
dance ambience, breezy melody and helium vocals.
Gold dust for all Tame Impala fans (not me).
“The morning light is turning blue, the feeling is bizarre/ The night is almost over,
I still don’t know where you are/The shadows, yeah, they keep me pretty like a movie
star/ Daylight makes me feel like Dracula,”

It has been already 5 years since one-man-dance-pop-band TAME IMPALA
released its 4th LP THE SLOW RUSH. Since then singer-songwriter and
multi-instrumentalist KEVIN PARKER focused on writing film music.
But the wait is over for the millions of TA fans.
New single END OF SUMMER pounds like a heartbeat in overdrive for
7-plus-minutes with Parker‘s helium vocals floating all over it. An old
skool dancefloor filler, a familiar disco killer.
Wake up people,
here comes a fast
rush of blood to
the head.

TAME IMPALA – Australian Pysch-Pop Outfit Released Debut LP ‘INNERSPEAKER’ Today 15 Years Ago
Significant longplayers from yesteryear
21 May 2025
Australian psych-pop act TAME IMPALA, the sonic baby of mastermind, singer,
songwriter, musician, record producer, and DJ KEVIN PARKER released their
debut album INNERSPEAKER on 21 May 2010, this day 15 years ago.
Originally, Parker intended to make it a double album, but eventually lacked
the motivation to do so. Many of the songs demos intended for the double LP
were later leaked onto YouTube in unmixed form.
The LP’s artwork from Australian artist Leif Podhajsky features an image of
the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, actually the border between
North Carolina and Tennessee, in the USA.
The album got lots of critical acclaim, with many praising Parker‘s ability to put a
modern spin on elements of 1960s psychedelic rock, creating a new and original
sound.
Pitchfork said: “These Australians have crafted an assured and accomplished album
that integrates an array of psych rock references into a powerful whole. This is very much an album’s album– it sounds best as a piece, where you can get lost in its heady expanse. When an album is able to tinker with and update familiar textures and moods without blurring the lines too much or just plain overdoing it, you can believe that psych fans will be asking for it to be thrown on regardless. If you’re smart, you’ll oblige them.” Score: 8.5/10.

Waking Up With… DIANA ROSS And TAME IMPALA Bringing THE MOTOWN SOUND Back
Works faster than caffeine
Soul diva DIANA ROSS and sugary synth-pop
act TAME IMPALA (read Kevin Parker), together? Yes.
What, when, how?
The song is titled TURN UP THE SUNSHINE and is
written by producing superstar Jack Antonoff, Sam Dew,
Patrik Berger and Kevin Parker.
It will feature on the soundtrack of upcoming, animated comedy movie
Minions: The Rise Of Gru , part of the Despicable Me franchise, out July 1.
On first hearing, it sounds like this is a lost Diana Ross/Motown song from
the 70s with The Temptations taking care of the harmonies/backing vocals.
On second hearing, it still sounds the same way as the first time. It will stay
that way, undoubtedly.
Time to get up and
shake your booty…
