MIMOSA – British Indie Lads Hit Town On New Steaming Single ‘TAXI FARE’

Daily electricity to load your batteries

27 December 2023

Band: MIMOSA
Who: Northern indie lads from Sheffield, UK

Formed during the global pandemic and live performances have already
seen the band fill tents at major UK festivals, such as YNOT Festival and
more and headline shows all across the country. Mimosa have also headlined
in Nottingham for BBC Introducing.

New single: TAXI FARE
One pf the earlier tunes, written sometime in 2020.
It pays homage to what a standard night out is like
locally in their rural town.

TUTV: Only 3 singles in and Mimosa shows all signs of a band that’s here to stay.
Unbridled swagger, badass braggadocio and lots of lust for Iggy Pop‘s kinda life.

Taxi Fare is a fast-forward riff-ripper blasting out of your trembling speakers
from the kick-off. Amplified British indie gusto at its invigorating best. The vocalist
voice is family of Alex Turner‘s one and these 5 Sheffield burst with boldness and an appetite to climb up the ladder as did Arctic Monkeys did before Turner decided to
become a crooner. Pretty cool, right? You betcha.

Let’s hit town.

The single’s B-side, titled Mad Man is a more quiet affair, the midst of lockdown when strange rules were applied to the public but didn’t seem they mattered to the people in charge, feeling as if the people were being controlled. Madman meaning one leader who rules the world and creates all these unfortunate events to stick to his plan all while remaining innocent for his actions.
