Last weekend, the omni-present FOO FIGHTERS played on the famous American Saturday Night Live show. They teamed up with R&B star H.E.R., the musical project of Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson for an emotional rendition of The Glass, a stand-out track of this year’s LP But Here We Are, their first one without their late drummer Taylor Hawkins who passed away last year, on 25 March.

22 May 2023

Yesterday FOO FIGHTERS went global with a free live stream performance, in which
they presented their new drummer who replaces the unfortunate Taylor Hawkins
who passed away last year, on March 25.

The 50-year-old, well-respected session musician JOSH FREESE will be the FF’s new
touring drummer. He played on tracks by Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Puddle Of Mudd, Weezer, Paramore, Sting and many more, and he also performed live with many of those groups. He’s a close friend of Dave Grohl and was also befriended by Taylor Hawkins.

During the stream, the band debuted a new song called Nothing At All and
also played recent singles Under You and Rescued live for the first time.

Now watching

Last Sunday Johnny Marr played in Cardiff, Wales. To pay tribute to Taylor Hawkins,
the Foo Fighters’ drummer who passed away March 25 at the age of 50, he played
a classic he wrote with Morrissey for his former band The Smiths.

Before going into There Is A Light That Never Goes Out Marr said: “This is a song
that we’d like to dedicate to our friend Dave Grohl. Lots of love going out to you guys and
all the Foos family. We miss you Taylor, we won’t ever forget you. God bless you. This is
from all of us.”

LIAM GALLAGHER Dedicates Classic ‘LIVE FOREVER’ To TAYLOR HAWKINS At Royal Albert Hall Concert

Liam Gallagher dedicated Oasis classic Live Forever to Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins last Saturday at his concert in the historic Royal Albert Hall in London, a day
after Hawkins passed away (probably due to a heart attack) in his hotel room, totally unexpected, the day before, on Friday.

Info: Gallagher wrote his newest single Everything’s Electric
with FF’s frontman and former drummer of Nirvana Dave Grohl

“I dedicate this last song to the one and only Taylor fucking Hawkins. This is for you, brother.”

50-Year Old FOO FIGHTERS Drummer TAYLOR HAWKINS Died In His Sleep – R.I.P.

25 March 2022

Shocking. Last night, Taylor Hawkins
the Foo Fighters drummer died in his
sleep. No cause has been revealed yet.

The band broke the news on social media…

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of Taylor Hawkins.
His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go
out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the
utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”

FF are on tour in South America. Four days ago they
played at the Lollapalooza festival in Argentina.
Hawkins‘s final concert.

Hawkins was born in Dallas in February 1972. He joined FF in 1997, replacing
original drummer William Goldsmith. Before that, he played for Alanis Morissette
for quite a while.

Short bio here.

He also had his own projects. Firstly Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders
and afterward The Birds of Satan, a spin-off cover band of Chevy Metal.

Yesterday I wrote a piece, planned to publish today, about their brand new EP
titled – what an incredibly irony – Dream Widow. Eight death metal (also incredibly
ironic) and hardcore songs. Of course, I deleted it as this terrible news came in.

.

Hawkins about joining FF: “Me and Dave Grohl just looked like long lost brothers in a weird way. We had a similar vibe and I don’t know why. I remember my friend playing with the Foo Fighters before I met Dave and watching them goof around backstage. He said to me, ‘That
guy could be like your brother’.

Rest in peace.
