FOO FIGHTERS Playing With THE B-52’s Frontman FRED SCHNEIDER For Cover Of Their Classic PLANET CLAIRE Back In 2002
Daily noise that works faster than any stimulant
24 January 2024
Dave Grohl and his FOO FIGHTERS are notorious for bringing guests on at their concerts. They did it in the past, they do it now and will, I’m sure, to keep doing it in the future.
Back in 2002, at a show in NYC, they invited THE B-52’s frontman Fred Schneider for
the New Jersey legends’ super-duper track PLANET CLAIRE from their super-duper 1979 debut LP.
That live version appeared much later, in 2019, later on a Foos live EP,
weirdly titled 00020225 along with 7 other live performances.

After 46 Years The B-52s Call It A Day With Their Last Ever Show This Week In Atlanta
8 November 2022
The love shack legends from Georgia, Athens call it a day this Friday, 11 November.
The last shows of their 2022 farewell tour. The curtain will fall at the Fox Theatre in
Atlanta, just outside the band’s hometown.
They started their fabulous career 46 years ago, back in 1976.
Fred Schneider (co-founder) “No one likes to throw a party more than we do, but after
almost a half-century on the road, it’s time for one last blow-out with our friends and family… our fans.”
Kate Pierson “Who knew what started as a way to have some fun and play music for our friends’ at house parties in Athens in 1977 would evolve into over 45 years of making music
and touring the world. It’s been cosmic.”
Cindy Wilson: “It has been a wild ride, that’s for sure,” said Cindy Wilson. “We feel truly blessed to have had an amazing career encouraging folks to dance, sing along with us and feel they can be whomever they are with our music.”
