SMASHING PUMPKINS Return With To New Synth Driven Tracks – Here’s ‘CRY’ And ‘THE COLOUR OF LOVE’

New sonic impulses…

29 August 2020

SMASHING PUMPKINS just announced a new album, their 11th, featuring Billy
Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin
, and Jeff Schroeder. No release date so far
but the band surprised us with two new songs, CRY and THE COLOUR OF LOVE.

“‘Cry‘ is dystopic folly. One soul against the world sort of stuff, set against a backdrop
of shifting loyalties and sped up time. To me it stands as both hopeful and dismissive
of what is and isn’t possible with faith”
says general Billy Corgan. It’s an unexpected
synth-driven, poppy, dancey and catchy piece.

On The Colour Of Love synths are also dominant, although this cut rocks more than ‘Cry’.
